    Default Business is business

Business is business but how do you wind down and change your business thoughts into relaxation mode?
I personally am also a full time competing triathlete that helps me unwind from a heavy business day of meetings and more meetings. Just to get my running shoes on and get off road running through a forest is so relaxing. An hour or two pool swimming & drills is cool and then I also long distance bike training, where I do switch off and trance ride 60k,100k and up wards etc.
When turns you off and sets yourself up for another day of business?
Sunday is a day of relaxation for some, for me its time for long distance training mode.
Cheers and looking forward to some answers and I bet some of you will have some crazy replies!!!!

Football - watching, training, playing, and of course the after match function.
OK- not a crazy reply - but true.

As unimaginative as it sounds, pretty much eating and drinking - I don't really have many extra curricular activities at the moment.

I've just taken up sea rowing at my local rowing club, we go out three nights a week, but if the sea condition are not great we train on the ergos. Kudos to you and your training! They don't call it iron man for nothing. How many triathlons have you taken part in?

I used to have a lot of trouble pushing business thoughts out of my mind, especially when I was running my own business and usually choosing to work at night, which led to a lot of trouble getting to sleep. I found that it was possible over time to train my mind into not thinking about business in certain circumstances, such as when I'm in bed, by consciously forcing myself to think about something else (absolutely anything) whenever a business or other stressful thought entered my mind. I think that also helped with being able to switch off easily now once I've left the office (well, checking emails doesn't count, but I'm not glued to the phone!)

got some exciting things in the pipeline so pretty much taken my foot off the gas with work the past month, but like Luke, normally work all the time so it can be hard not to be think about it, although I have Fridays off to go on the **** with my mates, and Sundays.

Bust my foot up at the minute but when that is better I'll be getting back in the gym smashing the weights and might do some boxing as well

Agree with you on the running part! Also enjoy the beach as a good way to relax after the workweek. Cheers!

    I have a Gold Mine.

    Seriously.

I go way into the Rocky Mountains to my Mining Claim and spend as much time as I can there in the Summer. Can't get to it in the Winter.
It is totally off the Grid, no Phones, no TV, no Internet, no power, no running water except the creek.

I would be there now, but there is a huge Forest Fire going on now.
I got stuck at the Mine this weekend because of the Fire.
The smoke was so bad we could hardly breath and you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you.
We finally got out of the mountians by driving in between two firetrucks down a mountain dirt road for about 25 miles.

But anyway, that is how I unwind. I mine gold and I detox in the Summer, Fish and Hunt in the Fall, so I can work 16 hour days 7 days a week all Winter.

P.S. Nope I don't get a lot of gold. Just enough to(sometimes) pay for gas and food...

    That's really cool!

If you ever want to get to Santa Fe PM me.

I like to snowboard all winter long. The Ski Basin here is amazing, and north in Taos the skiing is intense. Many professional teams train up there because of the elevation and the amount of extremely dry snow we get. I also like to play MMORPG's. Right now I am playing Rift (free to play) and it is great. It is a good way to both relax and make other people feel my gaming superiority in one lol!

Cooking organic meals for my friends, and getting them drunk is also something I doubt I would tier of.

I wake up and hike uphill for 2 miles to a river and lake near my house. There I usually gasp for breath and then walk down, thanking every second for my life here.

Working out is the one thing that gets my mind off anything work related. I find it pretty hard to wind down but when you're doing weights and concentrating on the muscle and correct form then you can't really think about anything else.

Playing games and watching tv and movies works best for me. But even still, thoughts of work creep back in from time to time and can't help but think on what else needs to be done the next day. I'm sure it's true for many affiliates as well that work from home - makes it hard to separate the two.
