Thats a very interesting question you have choosen to post here...............why don't you compile a list of your "TOP TWENTY" then we can all adust it and give our views and even add one or two more !!!!!!!

How can I compile this list? I don't know for how long you are working as affiliate manager of the current affiliate program. Perhaps the GPWA admin has such a list.

Generally speaking, if you take a look at the most active affiliate managers each month, the list varies from a selection of about 20 or so people.

These affiliate managers are knowledgeable and responsive and can be considered "top" candidates.

Granted, "top affiliate managers" is subjective, as some affiliates weigh certain criteria differently when choosing their list.

As such, it would be good to come up with 5 or so that you really like to work with, and then everyone can add in theirs as well and compile a general list of superb aff managers.

I totaly agree with you Adam and we would all have our favourites for certain reasons (Renee springs to mind for some reason lol) but that is not the kind of list Nandikshore requires.

I agree. I actually thought of changing the title after posting it, but then decided to leave it as it is.

But I am not interested in having a list of affiliate managers serving for 10 ten years in 20 different affiliate programs. I assume that if an AM stays for a longer time with a program, then we have an indication of the quality and reliability of the program. In other words, it is the quality of the program that interests me primarily, and that of the AM only secondarily.

I think you might have mis-worded this thread from the beginning then.

One must remember as well, that it isn't the length of time that the aff manager has been with a program that truly indicative of their value. A good affiliate manager might move from program to program, simply building the program back up to par, or exceeding expectations and then helping out another program.

If you want a "top" affiliate manager, you should have a list of things that are important to you and look for the relevancy of the responses.

I pride myself in being quick to respond, honest, open to new ideas and as helpful as possible with my affiliates. Others have different strengths.

You also have to define what you are looking for in regards to the quality of a program (ie: high commission rates, strong player conversion, good player retention, availability of promotions, selection of creative etc)

I have seen very good AMs work with dire products and still do ok whilst you see very inexperienced AMs working with major brands and getting away with it so to speak.

There are many factors that contribute to a person being a great AM but the companies they work for have a huge influence on this.

I found Ariel from top game platform to be very down to earth and very helpful as well. In fact he was the only reason I continued to leave top game casinos on my pages. He has recently left his position and I very quickly pulled all top gaming casinos.

A great brand doesn't necessarily mean it will have a great AM, and vice versa.

I am not saying an AM is as good as his/her products but it's a huge factor.

It's all about making money: if as an affiliate, operator X makes you the most with the service of a decent AM but another is a close 2nd with an AM you really like, which one will you give your top spot to?

There is no right or wrong way to look at this - its down to opinion.

I know plenty of affiliates who promotes brands that are represented by great AMs even though the brands are not as good as the bigger ones.

Then on the other hand, you can say that the bigger brands pay less and are less appealing to the more experienced AMs as there is less room to grow and add a personal touch.

Exactly, that is the point. If an AM stays longer with a program, we can probably conclude that the program is good.

For me in this case the AM is only a means to the end of determining the quality of the program.

I completely agree here - many affiliates don't give their AMs the time of day unfortunately.

The ones that do are the ones who make the more money.

In terms of AMs, the ones that actually listen and act accordingly do better. It's not all about selling, it's about taking care of the little details

OK, well, I don't have a list of 20 affiliate managers I can start this off with. However, there are a couple I rate very highly.
1st: Stelios at WagerJunction (King Solomons and Windows Casino) - I like an affiliate manager who is both proactive and reactive, so the regular newsletters combined with a willingness to actually help on a 1-2-1 level is pretty cool.

2nd: Steve at AffiliateWide (Box24, BlackDiamond, SpartanSlots) - He's just good people. Right now, we're not making bank with this program. But AffiliateWide have their act together in terms of what they're offering, so Steve is certainly a guy to talk to. Long-term, we'll get there - because there is good communication.

Neither of these are my top producing programs but in terms of building relationships, these are the people that get my vote.

Tomorrow will mark me being an AM at Rewards Affiliates for 5 years. It's the only company I've worked for in our industry, and I've only ever been an AM here.
