Anyone know where this organizer gets their email list?
Just received an email from them promoting "The Smart Live Casino" ... I know I have never asked to be on any of their list, so obviously they have purchased or been provided with the emails.

Are you an affiliate of Cyberbingo (now vistagaming) or Reefer Poker? They were running these two programs last year not sure what they do now.
I would have almost listed more of the programs canaffco has or had in the past until I got the spam on an email address I never used with canaffco. The first mail I got came to my email that I initially used fro vegas24/7 poker years ago so I figured they used it. Then came the other email on the never used with them address.
What is really screwed up is the email I have/had registered with canaffco never got the mailer. So I would say a harvested, purchased or borrowed list is the culprit. It sure was not a double opt in list that I am 100% sure of.

I got the same email. I personally know the manager for Canaffco. He's a very stand up guy. He's been also managing the Dublinbet affiliate program up until now for many years.
I don't know about the issue on the emails, but I do know his ethics are good.
I thought I'd throw that out there.
Agreed - I will drop him an email to post in here

Hi All,
Sorry for the spam-like nature of our last mailing. Mea culpa!
First off, the list we mailed to has been individually compiled by myself and my team over the past 7 years. I have managed personally, or my company has, the affiliate programs for a wide range of sites, including the aforementioned VegasPoker247, DublinBet, CyberAffiliates, Feltstars, Reefer Poker, and many others. We have also collected affiliates business cards and other contact information at our stands at pretty much every single affiliate conference since 2001. While you may not remember us, we try and keep pretty good records.
We also have always respected unsubscribes, and if you have ended up on our lists in error please let me know and I will correct that oversight.
Lastly, we used a different mail sender for this latest mailer which caused a lot of the emails to hit recipients junk mail/spam filters. In the past we had used the same mailer for 4 years and avoided this problem for the most part.
As always it was not our intent to surprise anyone with an unsolicited email. We are always careful which programs we represent, and Smart Live Affiliates has an excellent reputation in the industry.
Please feel free to contact me personally if you have any further questions or concerns.
Warm regards,
Gian
I have never worked with any of those programs, nor have I ever met you / handed you a business card, so you are getting your emails from some where else!
As for your "pretty good records" - I don't understand why you think its ok to collect and maintain list across companies without the premission of those individuals.
"Smart Live Affiliates has an excellent reputation" never heard of them, but I guess since they are paying you some sort of fee, its ok to SPAM for them. NOT!
