What seems to be the best CMS system for google in terms of SEO?

Joomla, Drupal etc...

ALSO: Does anyone here recommend a good design company for something like this? price?

What kind of site are you planning to create?

I recently started with a project myself and made the same research you are doing now. Everyone I talked to strongly recommended Wordpress. I also found a informative thread here at gpwa but I can´t post a link at the moment.

Wordpress has recently launched a beta version of 3.0 that should integrate Wordpress MU as well. I´ll give it a try at least.

Drupal is suppossed to be SEO-friendly as well, but perhaps more complicated than Wordpress and Joomla

I also agree with tiltfish... WP is a great platform for good and quick SEO rankings. It is flexible and you can find many useful plugins and themes.
But it also depends on the purpose of your site. Drupal, Joomla and other CMS's can be more flexible and scalable but looks like Wordpress is also becoming a competitive CMS.

You can create any of those above in it. Just make sure you buy the standard edition...
