Default .com or .uk for UK traffic

    Hi All

I have a site which is a .com domain. my sites targets people in the UK

what are the benefits SEO wise of having a .com or .co.uk domain - and would it be worth me changing my site over to .co.uk domain

i know .com will naturally rank in the US search engines - but would it benefit me to have.co.uk

    cheers everyone

.co.uk will surely help with UK traffic, but to be honest I`m not sure how much ... so it depends on your situation.

    1. Do you want to target UK exclusively? Or do you want to target a global audience with focus on Uk? (in this case I`d keep .com)
    2. Do you have an established website / brand?

If you keep .com, make sure to select UK as the target geolocation in Google Webmaster tools (if you haven`t already)

Go for the .com and target it to the UK. If then in the future you want to expand the audience of your site you can easily.
