Agreed. They ran on PBS when I was kid (and when we only got 4-5 channels on the TV. I now own the entire series on DVD. You've inspired me to put it back in the player sometime soon!

I love Monty Python, but whenever I think of John Cleese, the first role that comes to mind is Basil Fawlty.

Haha my dad sent this to me a few weeks ago. Thought it was totally fitting for a few people in our company since we cant get off the bloody things!

I think its fantastic how only 12 episodes was ever made, yet it lives as one of the best comedies ever made. I'm now inspired to watch it all over again! Everybody Loves Raymond has nothing on Fawlty Towers.. pffft!

He even has his own fan club on facebook!

I used to go out on the weekend in my hometown and would meet people and as you're talking, ask where they work. When they told me they worked at the Bluescope Steelworks I'd ask them if they knew *dads name*.. theyd be like yeah I know *dads name* he's a top bloke. I'd be like "He is my dad" and they would praise the ground I walked on "OMG You're *dads name*'s daughter! OMG!".. It was very strange.

Hmmmm I know the feeling. My dad is so popular that when I was younger, I used to amuse myself by keeping tabs on the number of people who would say hello to him and stop to chat whenever we would go out. A simple trip to the supermarket could likely take hours - buying the stuff we needed would actually only take 30 mins.

The good part was that I used to get stuff all the time from people my dad used to help. I especially liked to tag along when he went to fix stuff for this guy who was an ice cream manufacturer and another who was a baker/pastry maker - They would ask me to taste their new receipes. Yum-yum
