    Default Commission question

Is it ever possible to earn more or less than your standard commission from a single player? As an example, if a player deposits $1000 and you are on 30% rev. share, assuming that the player never deposits or withdraws again, will you always eventually end up with $300? Are there any situations where you could end up earning more or less than the $300 commission?
Are there any situations where you could end up with no commission, even if they eventually spend it all?

If the player plays poker and donks the money off quickly, you'd earn pennies.

They could loose $1k on an exchange (ie betfair) and you'll make nothing.

Progressives also affect things - you generally don't get commission on progressive contributions which eats into your revenue. On the flip side it can make your rev higher than the deposit if the players wins a progressive and then loses some back.

You also might lose commission to the "credits and comps" that seem to go on with properties that serve US customers.

1/ The customer might lose $1000, and stop playing.
2/ The casino will "comp" the player (say) a $500 bonus to attempt to keep him - but the player is not interested and does not log in.

The way things currently work at MOST sites is that the commission system sees this as a player who has lost $1000 - $500 (comp) = $500 so you only get paid 30% of the $500 overall loss.

If the player subsequently signs in and loses the comp as well - then you'll get the commission on the extra $500. But a lot of players seem to leave comp balances in their account it seems ...

If you're an affiliate at Rewards Affiliates and have an account on the wager model you could make a different amount.

The wager model is based on turnover, so if the player is playing slots and has lots of small wins that they play back, the amount you earn could exceed even the $1000 that they deposited.

On the other hand, if they are playing a game like blackjack or roulette and drop the whole amount on one hand and lose, you'd make less than the $300 you'd make on revshare.

As a side note, I have an affiliate who made $63,000 in April from a player who only deposited $2500. They were a slot player and they kept winning and playing it back. This is on the higher end of the scale of course, but just an example of the range. I see this happen quite frequently.

    Cheers

I also think that it depends on the product .. in sportsbook I dont think that you can earn less than 300 but with poker it is of course possible because you participate on the rake and not on the lost amount itself .. I guess the player that won 63k was also on a wager model? otherwise I don't think that this is possible

Yes, the affiliate who earned 63k was on the wager model. The player only deposited $2500.
