Default The real reason people are not depositing

As an affiliate I will often talk to live support to get answers to bonuses , tournaments sign ups ect. Today I talked to the folks over at nine.com casino. Please keep in mind when reading this that I asked 20 minutes before ( different rep ) if Nine.com accepted usa players for their slot tournamnets.

Here is the conversation I had.

One of our Representatives will be with you in a moment
You are now chatting with Opal
    Opal: Welcome to Casino Support.
Opal: How can I assist you today?
Christopher: Hi Opal, Can USA players join your slot tournaments? I am unsure how to get started
Opal: Where in the U.S do you reside?
    Christopher: I am in canada
Opal: We no longer accept Canadian players on the sirte
    Opal: site*
Christopher: Ok, but do you accept usa customers?
Opal: Not if you're living in Canada
Christopher: If I live in the USA?
Opal: Yes, and not from the states of Oregon or Missouri
Christopher: So USA can sign up s a new player and join your slot tournaments?
    Opal: Yes
Christopher: Ok great, could you provide me with a link outlining how to sign up for the slot tournamnets please
Christopher: I see the original link but its unclear how to get started
    Opal: You are in Canada
Opal: You will not be able to register an Account
Christopher: Yes, I promote from canada
Christopher: But I promote to usa players
Opal: You cannot open an account
Christopher: Ok, I see im not getting through to you
Christopher: Thank you for your time.
    Opal: My pleasure!
Opal: Thank you for chatting with us. If you should have any further questions or comments, feel free to contact us at anytime.

Hmmm. She's either a moron, since everything you said went right over her head, OR she's rushing because they're timing support and rewarding techs for speed as opposed to quality.

Bottom line is the support is crap. Hell yeah, no wonder people aren't depositing.

I wonder if it's a scripted bot? Certainly it seemed to lack comprehension.

If they can create bots to play poker - then surely running a helpdesk to provide mis-information must be a doddle.

Want to know why I'm not depositng (at least at some Internet poker rooms)? Because they're charging a $50 fee to send you a check if you want to withdraw. $50! A low roller like me (who still may generate several hundred dollars in rake) isn't going to deposit when there's no way that I can recoup such a high cashout fee.

Too funny! The help desk must be automated or some severe drugs are being consumed, maybe both?

No reason to call them out here (they surf these boards and they know who they are ... maybe they will reconsider?), and it's not a room that I actually play in, just one I was considering because they had a pretty interesting bonus promotion.

Then I read that provision, and it eliminated the possibility of me playing there. I even logged on to a live chat session to double check, because it seemed so ridiculous.

Unfortunately, I doubt that was an automated response you were getting. It seems that customer support is about outsourcing to the cheapest bidder these days and most have no knowledge or practical assistance to give!

Playing Devil's advocate for a minute, is it possible the rep isn't familiar with the affiliate concept? I mean, if I said to my mum I promote to France from the UK, she wouldn't have the first clue what I was on about

I can consider that option that maybe they dont understand the affiliate concept. But they do speak english right? If someone told me they wanted to know if an American player could join my forum, I could simply answer the question. I wouldnt look at my stats of where the caller is from ect, id simply answer the question.

This live chat rep didnt bother to look at the actual conversation, she only noticed I was from Canada and didnt wish to offer any real help. The initial question could have been answered in about 3 seconds. Instead they decided make it complicated. Do you accept usa players? Yes we do, or no we do not.

    Sounds easy to me.

    Does seem idiotic.

But maybe they are just paranoid that you are a U.S. Marshal visiting across from Detroit in Windsor sipping a latte in a Tim Horton's while surfing the Net.
