    Default Delaware approves online gaming

Delaware has become the first state in the U.S. to approve online casino gaming. The Delaware legislation signed into law also allows online poker and online lotteries.

I'm a little skeptical about how revolutionary a change this will be. From the 1st article below, the phrase "in-state betting online" drew my attention - in other words the ability to gamble online is limited within the state itself; from the 2nd article, it seems that residents will be able to gamble outside of the existing 3 casinos within that state. What both articles mention is that this law is supposed to help reduce fees which casinos pay to the state (by broadening their access to the public) - *but* that the casinos have to invest, among other things, in "traditional business expenses such as marketing"

[I can't post links: the 1st one is from businessweek dot com from 13 June and the other was from therepublic dot com from 10 July- do a google search for "delaware online gambling]

...in other words, from the point of view of affiliates it doesn't look like this law opens any opportunities in the near or even long term.

I won't hold my breath on this one to be honest. I think online gambling might become a reality early in 2013 and not in 2012 as most anticipate. By then it will be too late for affiliates since the world "ends" on 21 December 2012.
