Does email spamming work?

Yeah I know what you mean. Best advice I can give you is to block the domains of the emails you do not want to see. All the aff programs I have signed up to in the past have had an unsubscribe option, which is generally how I stop getting them.

Unless you signed up to some aff company who doesn't comply with the CAN SPAM ACT then blocking is the best way to go. - Universal4 explained it nicely!

or you could just get gmail as I find Google does a great job at removing spam. Good luck with it though!

inor-bidi;} </style> <![endif]--> Spamming does not work, because spamming means that you have crossed the line of keeping a possible customer informed, the customer is already informed, you're stepping into forcing business not marketing, that never worked, 1 email is too little, 2 emails ok, 3 emails maybe enough, more than that is just annoying and the customer will hate you and your product even if he/she had some interest.

SPAM is annoying and should be minimized from any kind of web promotion. With my affiliate offers, I make an effort to fight SPAM and instead use PERMISSION MARKETING. The idea is to send emails to people who voluntarily subscribe to your newsletter or mailing list, and then encourage them to whitelist your email address. Only pepole who choose to receive emails should receive them (because there are people who INSIST on receiving email updates, so email promotions really help them a lot). Personally I use a CAN-SPAM compliant email software calle IMAILUNLIMITED and I've never had anyone complain to me about spam whenever I promote gambling related offers. Just my two cents.

All in all, it boils down to your finesse and ethical standards when promoting online. When people see that you are a class act, trust is built and emails are opened.

We all wish spam didn't work because it would mean spam would end. Unfortunately spam hasn't gone away and it means there are enough people that click on spam links and it is ridiculous.

I look at email SPAM the same way I look at those annoying 1/2 hour long TV Infomercials.

They work, they make money... But I just don't understand 'Why' they work.

I personally would never buy anything from a SPAM email or TV Infomercial... but quite a few people do.

Here is very good study from the IRC at UC Berkley and UC San Diego. It is kinda nerdy, but if you want to know about how modern SPAM actually works, this is a good read.

These same guys at the IRC, in a different 'experiment' actually hijacked(hacked into) a small spam bot network and took it over for a couple of days.
They wanted to know how much money the Spammers were making... According to their findings the SMALL bot network they took over was making $7k USD a day.

Since becoming an affiliate, I received a lot of player type spam to my site email address, and I can honestly say I would NEVER work with the brand in question. If they do this to me, what would they do to players I refer. It doesn't work, it just winds people up the wrong way!

The thing is most email spammers are also Major League Hackers.

They Hack people computers by spreading viruses & other bad stuff to create their spambot networks. Then they steal the personal info from the computers they take over and then the 'bot' computer sends email SPAM to the computers they can't take over.

They also Hack email servers to send their SPAM, I just found one the other day in my lots0cash.com email server, the SOB got my email banned by AT&T... Now I gotta jump through about 1000 Hoops to get the Ban reversed.

Infomercials, damn do I hate them.

Today in fact, Brighthouse decided to show damn informercials instead of football on CBS for the 1 o'clock games....jerks how could they possibly make more off that than the NFL who the hell knows. /end rant

Then to **** me off more, FOX decided to change the game I was watching and switch to the Atlanta game and not allow me to finish watching the 49ers game, even though I had already invested 3 and 1/2 quarters of time into that game....Bastards. /end 2nd rant

I think the majority of the money made from spam on the bot networks, is in selling mailings made on the network.

The get-rich-quick, pay to surf/pay-to-click bullshit, as well as new unsuspecting affiliates in almost every niche out there buy mailings constantly so there is always a steady flow of buyers wanting mailings.

Plus I think those who do a lot of the PTC, PTR etc type programs will respond and join the stuff they get in spam, thus perpetuating the whole idea that its effective. Those who join the programs from the spam are next weeks buyer of more mailings.

Also, since there are so many places that sell mailings and it has become such a competetive space, such a low percentage of return is needed to make the mailings profitable, and a steady flow of new affiliates entering the space just means a steady flow of mailing buyers consistiently.

All we can do, is get as many of the REAL spammers in our space to lose their affiliate accounts to get them to realize that it will not be tolerated.

Hello

As a player, buyer, internet user ... i do hate spam, pop-ups, and all those intrusive and annoying techniques; therefore, I dont use them on my websites. Think I never sent a single mail with affiliate links in my whole life.
