I want to do some experiments with reducing the size of the DOM tree on a couple pages and see if it has any material affect on metrics. No I do not expect this to be The Holy Grail or to have much effect at all really, but I like to tweak.
I would love if there were some online tool that could read the html and provide suggestions for reducing DOM, but after numerous searches I have failed to find one. Alternatively, anyone who is good at efficient CSS/HTML coding could help with this project. I would happily pay or share current and future results if someone else is interested in exploring this idea!
I am tired of seeing messages like this in PageSpeed Insights and other speed testing tools.
