Edward Snowden just told the US people that their own Government had been spying on them, and hiding it. What the Government is doing is wrong, but its doesnt matter, theyre the government they'll just brand Snowden as a traitor, catch him, and sweep it under the rug.
Nobody will make a stand! Everyone will forget about it a week after hes caught, and the Government will have a lot more free time and resources to spy on you again![]()

It didn't realy surprised me that the US Gouvernement is spying on the whole world thru Facebook, Google etc. What did surprise me was that Facebook, Google and others just let them do it on their company servers.
But what Snowden did was good. Tell the people the truth. The gouvernement is still elected by the people, so people should know what they do.

I dont think that surprises me at all, no doubt google will be selling on info/services to authorities across the globe, just like Facebook does.
its the 21st century where humans are saleable commodity.

I agree with Chris hedges comments; free press is important and the way the government is handling this issue gives the impression that nobody really should point out any wrong doings.
Not only in America politicians do whatever they want, if we knew what they are doing behind the public’s back, then we would all be shocked.

What the US is doing here is most definitely wrong and I wonder sometimes who actually controls the US, the President or the CIA?
But that said I would also like to point out that all countries, with the capability to do so, spy on their own countrymen and where possible foreign countries. Take this news article from the Mail & Guardian in South Africa: Spy wars: South Africa is not innocent.
The US is trying to lable Snowden a traitor when in actual fact he is a whistle-blower. If anything, secretly spying on your own citizens is traitorous.

I agree that Snowden is a whistle blower, and he should be protected because of it, but likely will not be.
It is also fairly obvious that the US is certainly not the only country that spies on it's citizens as well as other countries, although we probably have better resources to do so then some other countries.

Without your fellow-countryman Stanislaw Petrow you would have had no opportunity to ask this question today and nobody exist to give a response.
Petrow was one of the greatest heros of the Cold War, and the most important spy ever was the Polish colonel Ryszard Kuklinski.
Without these guys there would have been a nuclear war.
Now the Cold War is over.
Snowden revealed the attempt to achieve not only the military autocracy after the Cold War.
The European Union governments are afraid for the United States.
Vienna speaks for itself.
What happened to Mr. Morales is a shame!

Snowden's heart is in the right place, but a single person going up against world governments probably is not a good idea.

There's no surprise that the US government spies... I think its totally wrong, but need to be realistic... probably all countries with resources do.
I think he did the right thing to uncover it... and sadly he will pay a high price for it.

NSA tracking cellphone locations worldwide, Snowden documents show

The president is just a puppet, I think its the federal reserve that controls the US.
Have any of you ever watched Zeitgeist ? You can also watch them on youtube in sizeable chunks. The one of religion , politics and money is great (unless you are very religious - if so, don't watch it).
