Default Enough my a$#... WTF is this about?

I have been silent and watching all this nasty BS between us and cap.... he said she said, my dad can beat up your dad.... all the political crap that is tearing down a once [perceived] good relationship between two major players in the industry. I chose to remain quiet and attempt to be a good member at both sites, but enough is enough.

So much has gone on, from Michael's ban because CAP did not like the fact that J. Todd picked the better of the two forums to partner with [my opinion only, but why else be banned], to Lou's accusations that Michael commited a criminal act, and everything else in between.

Yep we sure lit up the google alerts this past few weeks with tags of forum wars to Cardspike stiffing players and affiliates... What a shame it could not have been "Online Affiliate Portal solves non payment issues".

Well, tonight I got my Google alert for "affiliate" and this one is the biggest pile of dog **** I have seen come to my inbox in a very long time:

    <TABLE style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 10px; MARGIN-RIGHT: 10px" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=80 align=left border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle></TD></TR><TR><TD align=middle>Gambling911.com</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
    Casino Affiliate Programs Bans Liggero
    Gambling911.com - Miami,FL,USA
Gambling Portal Webmasters Association representative, Rebecca Liggero, has been banned from appearing future Casino Affiliate Programs (CAP) events, ...
See all stories on this topic
Tell me now, WTF has sweet, non combatant Rebecca done to deserve the ban? I was trying to be an active member of crap [oops CAP] since last year but this really crawled me. I did not see any posts by Rebecca that would earn a ban, in fact, I don't recall seeing ANY posts or replies by her to warrent the ban.

All I can figure is she is employed by Casino City and "god LOU" [caps disabled to restrict blasphemy] decided "any person that is associated with Casino City or GPWA is not allowed to be a member at cap [lowercase to signify my displeasure]. I figure 'he' has changed her avatar to a derogatory one perhaps the image g911 posted up is her new one... what a crock of **** poor management.

From what Gambling911 reported, our very own sweetheart was in the Bahamas attending the PokerStars PCA, so what was so God awful that she could have done could have caused a ban?

Well cap, kiss my ass, ban me too, I am so sick and tired of all this forum war crap, grow the f&^k up. After all I never made a derogatory post or comment so to be fair to Rebecca, I deserve to be banned too. And... while you are at it, ban every friggen member there that does not bow down and kiss your ass.

Yes, I was silent, NO MORE! Get a life! Get a clue!

Rebecca, if you still are going to attend CRAP London... watch your back, who knows what the [dis] management of cap may have in store.

Time to break all ties IMO. This is something that needs to be finalized. Once and for all. I can't recall a bigger bunch of crap since I was in Jr. High school many years ago.

P.S. I AM a GPWA member, and supporter, and I WILL continue to be so, GPWA is MY house!

It was very well done, still a shame that it hits a Google alert for affiliate, except maybe someone new may see the evil side of cap.

Wish I could join you all in London, gotta sit a few out...

Keep up the great work JT!

Hmm. I'm guessing that means that Google has my site flagged as some kind of spam site, on the basis of the links to casinos?

That's annoying. My site contains only straight hard links, completely non-affiliate coded. There is no financial relationship (yes, I know how bizarre that sounds), one of the reasons for which being that it would be regarded as a straight information site - which is exactly what it is - and gain weight as such.

So I seem lumped with the disadvantages of an affiliate site, and none of the advantages.

    Anyway, thanks for your compliments.

    Caruso,

I don't think means your site is considered spam.

Your article covers a situation that just happens to be important in the affiliate community and your article is tagged as being important in that discussion...

Kuddos for all of that actually.

    completely non-affiliate coded
Caruso if you don't mind my asking, ... how do you make a living?

I poise such both out of curiosity and to make the point that I would guess that Google is assuming (as would I) that you're getting paid whether it be thru aff tracking or paid up front a blanket price that doesn't require aff tracking.

And I would guess further that in most cases that is going to be true because I know I couldn't run my sites without an income. For me it just wouldn't be possible.

it would be a curious experiment to see if it helped/hurt/no difference to see how it would effect your rankings if you put in no follow tags on the casino links (and perhaps you have it that way now .. I didn't look but ifso then it would be curious to see how the SEs reacted if you went the other way).
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

Well no not exactly. When you set up a google alert if an article is indexed which uses those keywords it will provide you with an alert notifing you that they found something on the topic requested

So its not that your flagged for being an affiliate site or that you do or dont have links. In that particular article he mentions the word affiliate a number of times...I stopped counting at 5 and of course the obvious casino affiliate programs. So if OP has his alerts set to provide him with one when ever a "casino affiliate program" or "casino affiliate" or even "affiliate program" article is published it should catch your article.

I do this with slotsgeek, but my keyword is slotsgeek so I can see who is republishing articles or links back to the site

Thanks for the feedback. These matters are certainly not my forte, so that clarifies a lot. The words "...a shame that it hits a Google alert for affiliate" that the OP used is what raised my eyebrows.

I would guess that Google is assuming (as would I) that you're getting paid whether it be thru aff tracking or paid up front a blanket price that doesn't require aff tracking.
As would anyone. The links really aren't media buys, or coded with any of the cloaking devices that I know a lot of affiliates use to hide the URLs. Just straight hard links.

The site costs me domain fees, plus I have an unlimited hosting package. As such, it isn't overly expensive to maintain.

I did talk about this no-follow code with a couple of people, and I think the outcome was that it wouldn't help (though I have no idea, of course). I also recall reading that it represented a vague cheat, that you would be saying "here's a link, but please ignore it anyway".
