First Online Poker Affiliate Being Considered for License in Nevada

I read about a poker affiliate that is currently being approved by Nevada's Gaming control board. It's the first one to be considered for an application. They will be paid on a flat rate basis rather than getting revenue. All you have to do is fill out and submit the form and pay the $3000 in fees...
NOTE the Fee and what it is used for - $3,000 ($500 Application Fee/$2,500 Investigative Fee)

If you have no past involvement with "illegal" online gambling and you have never been arrested in the USA you might get accepted.

However, I understand that over 1500 applications for Service Providers(affiliates) have been received by the NGCB and all but this one have been rejected... That is why this one affiliate getting a license made the news.

I have not even bothered to apply. I have been involved in online gambling for over a decade... I have zero chance of getting approved.

I just found a phone number for the Gaming Control Board's Tax & License Division - (702) 486-2008

I wonder if affiliates can find out how to apply for a license from them. I'm not prepared to do it but maybe some of you are. That's the Las Vegas office.

Nevada has put many obstacles in the way for individuals to get a licensed as a "Service Provider" in Nevada.

1. No Criminal Record. Any arrest, even traffic tickets can excluded you.

2. No past involvement with "illegal" online gambling. According to the NGCB all online gambling not licensed by Nevada has been illegal. The extensive and expensive background check is specifically looking for past involvement with "illegal" online gambling.

3. You must be a Legal resident of Nevada.

If you can get past these obstacles you have a shot at getting a license... but the deck is stacked against you from the start.
