Have to agree that steroids could be involved here or we may find later that it wasn't but I am sure they will investigate whether it could have been a factor.

We may also find later that t was a combination of things or history of heart problems or ??

Someone mentioned injury recovery is also one of the reasons steroids are taken, but that also goes for HGH therapies which I think are not classified as steroids and are classified as a hormone. HGH is forbidden for many US sports athletes but I do not know about other countries.

Regardless of whether drugs played any role in this tragedy, my guess is that it will shine the light in that direction for a time during the investigations which may end up making players safer in the end.

I totally agree with you. Anabolics are very dangerous for the health but sports is a big business and billions are involved

Whilst on steroids the heart rate and blood pressure is elevated.

Generally though like thebookiesoffers says the heart can take the strain short term its long term it causes damage. Saying that, if the person already had a heart condition that was undetected even a single course of steroids could kill him.

Suppose we will never know, we can debate it all day and I'd say its disrespectful to him and his family to assume without proof.

exactly, drugs probably had nothing to do with it. look at the bolton player that 'died' on the pitch at spurs, marc vivien foe (was brilliant for me in Championship Manager), also died on the pitch, sure one of our players had a clutcher in the changing rooms at half time at forest a few years back. All heart problems and nothing to do with drugs. James Taylor the cricketer, could of easily died as he's found his problem in time. Yet this kid in the first post is having hints pointed at him he's on steriods

R.I.P... I think it's the first time I hear about a player that die while he was playing
