I believe that more casinos will be blocked in the future as world governments continue to tighten their grip on our industry. It's sad to see that this is happening, but what can we do really. We just have to keep moving forward. Excellent video Jay Todd as always and a happy Thanksgiving holiday for next week.

While the ACMA flexed (or appeared to be flexing their muscles) for a little time after the amended IGA Laws passed in August 2017, everything seemed to go quiet eventually. It wasn't until the following 'news story' hit the TV out here, that all hell has broken loose again.

    https://www.casinomeister.com/forums...suicide.89289/

In typical media fashion, if the truth can't be found, then just make it up. That seems to be what AU media agencies and TV channels used in this story. Of course the ACMA has a job to do. And, even while it seems this "news story" is mostly frabicated sensationalism, the fact Aussies can still gambler online at off shore entities, the ACMA's mandate is to prevent such things happening. Hence it has been forced to take action.

Anytime a young person takes their own life, it's very sad news.

However, it seems the 'truth' in this chain of events; which the media failed to disclose, concerned KYC (Know Your Customer). EMU casino was not going to pay this player their winnings until, his ID could be verified. Whether there was a line of miscommunication (IDK), but it seems when one (1) or more of his ID docs were rejected, this player assumed he was not going to be paid, and subsquently lost the lot back to the casino.

This jackpot was won from a $200 deposit. From what I can gauge, it was his first, and only deposit, at said casino.

We've all experienced KYC issues here. You know the 'drill'... Passport/Driver's License ID/Documentation MUST display ALL 4 Corners, and must also be clear and valid etc. Proof of address must be dated three (3) months or less. Maybe this was his first time gambling online, and as such, wasn't savvy to KYC requirements (IDK).

I have no doubt EMU would have paid this player, if and when, they received ID docs intact.

As I see, the only fault of EMU, it continued to allow Australians to gamble at its casino.

Reiterating, anytime a young person takes their own life, it's very sad news.Though, one can't help but wonder if there was an underlaying mental condition at play here. Instead media outlets focuses on their own agendas, and EMU became the scapegoat.

The only casinos that don't pay players (regardless of the player's country of origin) are rogued clip-joints. EMU is neither. Just like many other off shore casinos who still allow Aussies to gamble.

    Food for thought...

If the Australian Gov., had sought advisement from those savvy about online gambling, instead of university boffins, who, likely have no real-world-expertise is such matters, it would have been a far better idea to legalise it, than attempt to ban it. If that decision had been made, then; going on the AU media's take on this matter, maybe this young person's death would not have taken place...

P.S. I had reason to make a complaint to the ACMA in 2018 about a rogue casino, shafting (scamming) AU players, being promoted via SMS, using an AU telco phone numbers. Did the ACMA rep care? No... Their comment was "unless you can provide a ACN (Australian Company Number), we can not do anything about an off shore entity."

Ummmm... An AU telco was handing out AU mobile numbers (and still is) to off-shore clip joints... allowing these rogues, to perp not only fraud on Aussies, but also provide a means for Aussie to gambling online I can only surmise, but it seems some AU companies receive carte blanche from the ACMA.

That is amazing... and sad... and not really all that surprising. It seems that all governments operate the same: Disguising their agendas as working for their citizens best interest. Shuck and jive...
