    Default Google Analytics Experiments

Is there a way to use Google Analytics Experiments for your homepage? I set up an experiment (my first time) for two different pages but what I really want to do is test my Homepage for how it performs in search using different Title and Description tags. Anyone know if you can do this? From what I understand about experiments you have to create two different pages and then Google will tell you which page performs better, but if I want to test my homepage I cant really create another page? Right?

If anyone knows a way to test your homepage using experiments if you can share I would appreciate it.

    Thanks - Travis

    Hey Travis.

I'm about to venture down the same road so I don't have the experience yet to answer your question about testing the homepage. I use Joomla for most of my sites and I'm looking into a plug-in that will help with just that. I'm guessing there's probably a Wordpress plug-in if you're a WP person.

I found this website which gets into A/B testing etc. Fairly extensive....

I'll report back if I have any success with it.

    Cheers,

you do can a/b or multivariate test any pages - including homepage using GA. The JS code which you place in your markup loads the test or the control page as it sees fit.

We started using Google Analytics because of its accuracy in reporting web traffic and statistics. It does not count robots or spiders as a visitor. It has the ability to identify a real user.

We have been pleased with the results and it is an effective method to convince your advertisers to work with you.

    Hi Travis,
You can create 2 homepage with different Title and Description tags, but Google Analytics couldn't help you to test search performance. Analytics doesn't indexing test pages.
It's only to test your website conversions or other meaningful actions.

thats a good question but why donīt you update only one page and check the results for some weeks?
