    Default Google and Proxy Hacking

This was shown to me last night by an SEO expert in New York City:

    http://www.seofaststart.com/blog/google-proxy-hacking

Apparently, Google sat on this info for a YEAR. A top SEO expert websites was completely removed from Google SERPs.

The 'band-aid' fix they have for a regular webmaster is ridiculous. The only way to protect a site if it is this bad is to have a full time company checking with Search Engine spider IP addresses. So the Crawl Wall (in ALPHA testing) may be the way to go.

I'll be sure to mention this to the crowd on Monday. We even have a proxy expert at the conference.

But I wanted to let you guys know this just came up last week. Its a really serious issue.

This proxy cracking has been going since early 2006. I did not feel a need at the time to make it public. So instead I started this thread https://www.gpwa.org/forum/tell-me-y...ts-170601.html

In fact I made it known in no uncertain terms at CAP spring break. Guess what no one believed me. In a nutshell there is something that can be done to prevent it. I have the journals right in front of me. But I exercise caution fearing others may get some wrong ideas.

The lesson here is don't ever think your site can't be pulled at a moments notice.

BTW: I mentioned this over and over again at CAP as well.

    the proxy-hacking is very bad.

    one question :

is it reduce the pagerank of the homepage ?

    ----------------------------------------

the proxy-hacking can be used against against the homepage
can it be used against other pages where your links are uptaded ( in this way the links to your homepage have less importance ) ?

Page Rank? It took an SEO experts page rank and made it ZERO.

ZERO - He was having trouble getting clients.

Dan Thies (SEO Page Start) was supposed to write another entry today or yesterday. I guess we'll hear more on Monday.

    Thumbs up

SEO experts are dime a dozen besides most of them are shady anyways. Besides what does an SEO expert really know with respect to Internet applications anyway. The shady ones only suck off other people’s creations and use them in a malicious manner. Now that takes some real skill!

This newest threat was not created for this intent. But like usual some SEO expert whether it be BH or otherwise uses it to flick mud into the eyes of Google. In regards to Dan well he is partially right. Some webmasters have been doing this to mirror their sites. Both are indexed and ranked just on separate pages, eventually the proxy one is removed. So theoretically this, not one but two year old script having several purposes. But please remember this was not the intent.

I would provide a link to verify this info, but unfortunately its classified. Besides you wouldn’t want to go there anyway. They would chew you up and spit you out and I would be breaking some privacy agreements.

Is a Proxy Expert really going to help? My guess is no he/she might generate some smoke but that’s about it. All these experts and yet to this day I have not found one calling himself cracker expert, BH expert etc… know why? Because they don’t believe in experts, again just smoke. What if I said uncovering a proxy is simple as 1,2,3 would you believe me? Of course not and this is perhaps part of the problem. Many Neophytes have this sort of mindset that provides a prime feeding ground for exploitation.

Everyone is pretty quick to blame google. But the reality is most are victims of there own game. I certainly wouldn’t blame google any more I would on having bad virus. Please remember google is subject to the Internet. The se’s can vanish tomorrow the Internet will live on. Take away the Internet and the web is forever gone.

I am not suggesting I know everything far from it. But the so-called band-aid fix would lie with Unix maybe one step up.

Thanks for hearing me out. I won’t be responding any further in regards to this matter. Besides based on past experience people don't really have an interest anyway. My turn to claim a blind mindset.

    Good Luck
