    Default Google question?

I finally got two of my sites listed in Google, But it seems Google doesn't take the keywords from my metatags.

Can anyone tell me how to get keywords into my webpages without ruining the design of my site?

Any advise would be really welcome.

You have to have a lot of keywords in the body of your pages for google to pick them up.

I'm fairly positive that google doesn't use meta tags for indexing purposes.

Google does *not* use meta tags at all - it uses content and linking. Your site should have content for your visitors anyway, otherwise you're not going to keep them, or get them back.

Try reading www.BruceClay.com for some very good SEO info, and there are also tools listed for webmasters at www.GPWA.org

sites that don't have content won't get indexed by google, that's the reason so many people use it.

    Thanks for the reply's,
But i like my sites the way they are and i'm sure so do my players.
I'm not going to change my sites just coz Google gets a hard-on from content.

    I'll find another way.

Just a quick correction to the above post mentioning Meta Engines. A Meta search engine has nothing to do with your Meta tags. A Meta search engine simply searches across multiple spidering search engines for relevant results. They then arrange the results in a proprietary algorythm, usually sprinkling in 'sponsored listing' from the likes of Overture, Findwhat or Kanoodle. A good example of a Meta engine is Excite.com. Another, but poorly executed is Dogpile.com (notably because the lack of a unique algorythm & obvious high placement of Overture)

It is still advisable to use meta tags with Relevant words from your content, as some second tier engines & linking programs still use them, & they wont hurt you in the other engines as long as you don't spam with irrelevant keywords or needless repetition.
