    Default Copied content

I found a blog which has content copied from articles I posted on various websites.
    http://casinogamblingage.blogspot.co.il/
The owner copy-pasted my articles onto his blog as is, plus he has hundreds of other gambling related articles up there as well which I'm taking the liberty in guessing are not his own original content either.
I'm concerned this will this affect my rankings in some way. Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do?
    Thanks guys!

I would email blogspot and try & get them to close it, they are quite keen on closing down gambling blogs anyway apparently

As Blogspot is owned by Google, they will remove the copyrighted content without much of a problem. I've had frequent copyright issues with my YouTube channel, and Google are always very prompt to help.
File a DMCA form here http://support.google.com/bin/reques...t_type=lr_dmca

Once the form has been filed, it's usually acted upon within 24 hours. However, the person you claim to have stolen the content can dispute that claim. It is rare for that to happen, so don't worry about that just yet.

Thanks for the advice guys! Will keep you posted.
It's sooo annoying and this guys isn't stealing just my content. There's hundreds of posts in his blog that are probably copied as well from other webmasters.
My next question is, can this affect my site rankings?

Yes, Google struggles with duplicate content, and it's not always a case of first come, first served.

Depends on the source. Some have added that option. You could force indexation through Webmaster Central Tools and for safe measure do a couple of social bookmarks. I use Onlywire to automate this.

The issue is that you need to claim the content before its scraped. Then he becomes the plagiarist.

If you can identify this guys IP through send him a spoof email or any request that will provoke him send you back an email you could block his IP. That's easy enough to get around with Overplay or HideMyAss though if he know what he's doing though, but its worth a try.

How exactly do you do this in your own article on your own site? Do you simply put a line somewhere that says "add me to your circle" with a link to your G+ profile. Or is there something else I am missing and not doing?

I have been suffering from quite a lot of copied stuff recently. My first action is straight to the hosting company. If they are a half-decent company they will get it removed or suspend the site within 48hrs. I ring them to get the lie of the land and then, as they always request, email them (often abuse@...). I have a very brief few sentences email template I use for this and although it isn't anything special it seems to do the trick. If anyone wants it then PM me but as I say it is nothing magical. If the hosting company doesn't play ball (and they almost all do) then simply harass the website owner. I managed to get a telephone number for a bloke in china one time and kept waking him up in the middle of the night (just takes 15mins on google to find it. Obviously do a whois too in case not privacy protected - even then email the privacy protection email given). Another couple of times I have been quite persistent and open on twitter - amazing that some thieves do have social media accounts! It's incredible how shocked people are when you just telephone them and ask them to remove the content they stole. I think they think what crimes happen on the web stay on the web! I also agree with all the other advice already given here (which includes pretty much what I have said anyway but I thought I would give my practical two pennies worth).

Never forget that each and every post or article has a first publishment date. And the one with the very first date is always safe from being penalized. Clear ?

Wish you were in charge of google's algorithm. It should work like that but it doesn't.

It's easy to change the publish date on Blogger - you simply type it in.

This is not fair and i strongly believe Google like smart search engine and its valued programming engineers will find a solution to this...i hope at least...

Depending on the amount of content, my personal view is that you can waste hours trying to make it right and go through the necessary channels but the content is out there now, your chances of having this content illegally seeded out even more are only going to get higher so logically speaking it would make more sense to reset the whole thing, turn the problem into an opportunity and create new content

I'm not quite sure I'm following you here. This content is all relatively new from the last 3 months. All of it is articles I submitted to article submission sites and not materials from my website.
