Heatwave - Global Warming

For the past week in Ontario and Quebec we have gone through a record temperatures heatwave where temperatures have reached over 32C and humidex well over 40C. Tonight huge storms and tomorrow a high of only 14C, back to normal. Apparently in the past 20 years the number of days that have exceeded 30C has doubled during the months of June-August.

If this isn't from global warning what's causing this crazy weather. Not looking for the winter temperatures ... brrrrr

I hate the cold so it can stay warm a little longer - that is fine by me. I saw something about a year ago stating that the total world temperature has not changed. Some areas have in fact gotten warmer but areas cooler. However, I think looking at Antarctica today verses 20 years ago paints a pretty good picture that Global warming is not a myth.

Here we broke a record for heat from 1890, so there must have been some serious global warming at the end of the 1800's as well as its was the record for a very long time.

No idea if its real or not, but its too important a thing to get wrong, so might want to air on the side of caution on this one.

So asking for 16 trillion to fix, what is the fix? Have not heard that part other than the government is here to help you. When i was 15 we were all going to freeze to death in to years. Its really amazing if you take a real good outside look at climate science, the only proof they have are the models that have been so far off its laughable. During the days of the dinsours there was way more CO2 in the atmosphere, and no humans driving cars.

Maybee the solution is electric card even though manufacturing the LiIon Batteries makes more emissions than driving a modern gas car for 10 years.

SO ask what they will do to fix, then let me know
Ask what proof they have other than the hockey stick charts that are not based in reality.
Ask why they adjust temperature data from recording stations always in the positive to support their claims.
Youngsters like to think they can save the planet, and there are people out there ready to exploit them

Yes, unfortunately, global warming is a real epidemic and it's getting worse. Did you know that very recently, a massive iceberg broke off from Antarctica and is now a much bigger worry than it used to be. The size of this iceberg is the size of the state of Delaware!

What we need is more trees and a greater reliance on environmentally friendly forms of energy, but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon, so I'm expecting to see more severe climate changes in the near future.

Yes of course climate change is real! ice age ect.. its cold here today. it was just as hot as hot in 1890 last week when we had strange high temps..

Al gore said in Cleveland by 2012 you will no longer need winter coats, well it was -15 last winter...

So what is the 16 trillion dollar solution to this proven science problem that data, common sense and many scientists don't agree with? its hype and fear with a massive payoff.

Climate change is the biggest scam of the moment. It seems we are due another ice age soon, and temperature always goes up a bit before this. The ocean level has fallen very slightly as well. The solar cycles are the cause, not the efforts of man.

Electric cars are another scam - all it does is export the pollution from the inner cities out into the countryside. The total "carbon footpint" of an electric car is larger than an efficient diesel when you include the generation of the electricity. But electric and driverless cars will be here to stay, because they takes control of the car away from the driver, and put it into the hands of the government, the police and the terrorists.

Global warming / climate change, what ever you want to call it, is happening. You have to have your head in the sand not to believe it is real.

It's happening, as it's always happened. The earth has been much warmer and cooler than it is today. We're a planet orbiting a variable star. In long term climate terms, we're still coming out of an ice age. Which means the ice will melt.

It's typically arrogant of this generation to think that the way the world is now is the way it's meant to be. Maybe the ice melting at the poles is the right thing for the earth. Maybe not for humans living below the old waterline, but for the earth itself.

However, if governments can find an excuse to charge you for every thing you use by calling it 'environmentally friendly' you can bet they will.

Electric cars may not be the ultimate solution but with the progress of technology things will improve. They however still have less of a carbon footprint than their gasoline counter parts. https://www.wired.com/2016/03/teslas...t-green-think/

I did see a Cosmos show one time, I only caught the last half of it and could never find it again to re-watch it but it showed what was happening or happened on some other planet and said that the same thing was happening to the earth.

Yes the temperature changes seen on earth were also seen on the surface of mars, was news proving the solar cycles have a far greater impact on surface temperatures than they will admit but good luck finding that now. Proving science by removing facts, seen this happen before.

I think it might have been Venus. This documentary had to do carbon gas building up.

It's no longer global warming.

Since there's no proof of the globe actually warming since ~1995, and people took notice, now it's climate change (in either direction), and news are about "weather extremes". As it turns out, somehow the fact that Danube froze this January is caused by you not caring enough for the planet. Ignore the fact that it wasn't actually warm (as in warming) per se. Oh it froze in 2012, too.

In short, there's no such thing as global warming.

And even if there was, it's questionable whether we can do anything to reverse it. It's even more questionable if we should - warming is good. It's the cooling - reduction in energy, motion and life - that's bad. Not only there's less energy, but frozen water doesn't circulate in the atmosphere so you're soon without both main ingredients for life. Cooling is our only enemy.
