    Pretty damn awesome.

    I ended up donating. xchimphaven.org

There are 1300 chimps in 11 labs across the US.
New laws being drafted on how chimpanzees should be used for research only if there is no other way to study a threat to human health. Its gotta be pretty extreme to do the testing.

Amazing the way they look at the open air and at each other, the closes to freedom they will ever get.

It is incredible to think that there is at least a 95% similarity of DNA between chimp and humans, so we could have been easily the ones used for research.

This is very touching, like Maria said it's incredible how close they are to humans.

I saw a video once of something similar of chimps who'd been freed after 30 years in labs and let out in the open for the first time, and they were actually hugging each other in joy, brought a tear to my eye! (This is the video if anyone is interested, not to hijack Rak's thread: xxhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAYWEwB6Meo )

    I'll be donating as well.

Random fact of the day - a mouses immune system is much more similar to a humans than a chimps is.
