It's never nice to hear anyone go through this, stay strong for your wife and your family and send her our best from CWC.

Stress test went well yesterday. Docs say she is a very strong woman..no surgeries for now, just daily meds. I want to thank you all for showing your concern.....it means a great deal to the wife and I both.

    Thank you,

    Good luck to you.

Was it genetic, or lifestyle? If the latter, moderate excercise where possible and a healthy diet. If she can learn some yogic breathing and mind techniques, all the better.

Of all the killer diseases - cancer, dementia etc - the greatest of them all, heart disease, is ironically actually the one which is largely preventable.

A combination really. Her dad died of a heart attack in his sixties just a few years ago. And being from the south we do love our salt and fried foods, so a big diet change is in order for sure.

She's also a perishable manager at a big chain food store....and her being so independent unloads the trucks and all. Moving a 2000 pound pallet is not hard once you get it moving, but to get it moving is another thing. I've been told her she should get the young men to unload the trucks, and now the docs have as well. A 48 year old woman has no business straining themselves in my opinion like that. (nor any lady as far as I'm concerned)

I do believe she has now finally opened her eyes and realized that she has her limitations....

Glad to hear the stress test went well, and I agree that it is a good thing that she may take notice to the docs....

You never know for certain whether getting others involved will really help or not ... but if nothing else it keeps you from getting lonely

I believe it helps and when one of loved ones is facing health issues you can bet I'll be right here and several other forums asking for everyone's simple 10 second prayer and it doesn't matter if you believe .. cause he believes in you so take the time, say the prayer dammit!

    Truly great news.

We will keep you both in our prayers. Happy to hear that she is on the mend! A diet modification along with the meds should do the trick. I had 2 heart attacks back in '06. Take a bag full of meds daily, changed my diet, monitor my BP (when I remember). Been in good shape as far as the ticker goes ever since they installed two stents.

There is good life following these, just have to learn to take care of yourself.

Nice to know that the stress test was positive. But this should be taken as a warning to change life-style, actually of the entire family. Only then it works.

Sorry I missed this Skinsky! Your wife will be ok now. She has many years ahead of her to keep you in line!

It's getting easier with diets these days. There is a lot of focus on 'heart smart' and things like that.

    Wishing a speedy recovery!
