    Exclamation Help!

    Hi Everyone,

Maybe you can help us understand this one!

We get lots of mail like the ones below ,this one is from Marketers unlimited.

Now the thing is we answer them then they come back with a different request, at some stage we have had others ask for free advertising with some flimsy explanation.

What´s the ploy or are we just being paranoid?, i´m just beginning to think they are all hoax!

Maybe someone can enlighten us ——See mail below——TX

My client is looking for permanent article posting, do you offer that?
And we also prefer that the webmaster provides the article, and social media mentions.
How much would that be in total?
Note: We prefer paying through paypal because it is reliable, secure and the fastest payment option for both of us. Hope this works with you.

    Hello,
My client is looking for article permanent posting in news/article/blog section, do you offer that?
Mostly, it would be great if the webmaster will provide for the article instead, around 400 - 600 words (unique, not copied). The article would mostly depends on the anchor text that we will provide but at the same time it would also be related to the website.
And also social media mentions of the direct link of my client website.

it looks like they are trying to piggy back of your success. Trace route them and call them and ask whats up.

Just people who try to get a link/article on your website. If they get a link from your website it is good for their SEO. And because of that are willing to pay for it.
This is frequently done. But remember that it is against Googles guidelines.

Hi Christiaan, Thanks for taking the time, the confusing part for us is where they ask we keep the blog updated, it´s not just a back link at that stage, i guess the other thing that would concern us—How can you agree to promote a site when you have no prior knowledge of who the site could be!! At the end of the day we should keep it all serious!!

As Christiaan says, it's just some SEO firm (most likely) looking around for links for their clients...or possibly someone with their own site looking for themselves. They're asking to keep the site (where the links are placed) updated because in theory fresh content added will keep the site attractive (in SE eyes)...and keep the value for the link you've given them.

This one is a badly written approach. I'd bin it straight off. It's normally wise to judge the validity of the approach from the way it's put to you.

But if you want to find out what site they want promoting, just go back and say...''I might be interested, but need to see the URL that you're going to want links to first. I'll only link to high quality content that gives my visitors value''

If they come back with a good quality URL then 1) you know it's (possibly) ok to go with it, and 2) what price you might be wanting to put on it

Thanks Chaumi - Interesting answer , i guess we missed the trick in not asking the URL as like you say, it tells the story! Cheers!
