Question Help me decide on website content

    Hi everybody!

Planning to launch a Wordpress site next month and still deciding what sports related content to provide.
Will capitalise site with promoting/running banners for gambling affiliate programs.

Here are options for content I'm thinking on:

    1) RSS aggregator site displaying full content - probably top european soccer leagues articles from rss feeds from larger sites.
Each article at the bottom, even if taken from rss feed has as last sentence "...this (link to article) appeared first at (link to original article's website)..."

Since each article provides 2 back links (to original article and original website), plus they would get my visitors to their website, I think content creators will be OK with that.

Just to be safe, I plan to send email to each rss feed I will use, to ask the owners if they are Ok if I post their feed articles on my site.

    2) Use maybe poka theme and just review few bookies with link to open account with my affiliate ink.

    3) Use free widgets that display for example Bundesliga league table, next fixtures, livescore - as extra feeder of content.

    4) Blog about match previews for one top european league or even provide betting picks.

From all this 4 options I'm most interested in 1st option - running a soccer news aggregator site and maybe add also free widgets that display league standing and fixtures.

What would you all recommend me what content to go with?

    A) What is your opinion on using a plugin that takes rss feed posts and convert them as new blog posts on my site - while providing 2 back links to original article creator's website?

    B) How is such aggregator site in the eyes of SEO and Google since in such case everything runs on an autopilot and I don't publish any of my own original content on my site?

    C) Also how does bookie's affiliate programs look at such affiliate that runs rss aggregator news site?

Thank you in advance for all your suggestions.

    Have a nice day!

I don’t think news aggregators are that helpful unless you have an audience.

You're not going to get far just running an out of the box aggregator, they're a dime a dozen and can be set up in about five minutes so hold very little value.

If you want to go down the aggregator route you need to offer something more than just generic feeds. Specific categorisation or search that no one else has done (eg: transfer news by player) or some kind of active community built around it.

Instead of doing what most of US did, that is... spend time researching our chosen market, by actually going out and doing the hard-yards, ourselves.

Seems a high % of newer affiliates want all this info (our hard work) handed to them on a silver platter.

Don't get me wrong I'll help newbies etc. However, I'm not handing over 20 years of my experience, which amounted to my success, to anyone.

No worry, I not asked anybody to share secrets with me.

I presented everybody with few options regarding what type of content to run - aggregator news site or write reviews myself.

Content is maybe 20% of site success - right marketing is 80% of success.

Can create 2 sites with 2 different content approaches and see which one will perform better.
