Does that make me enemy #1?

I not only use IE but I also purchase and recommend Microsoft Office AND Server products.

More like Enemy of the State .

I'm fine with MS Office, I use it too. There was a time when I used IE as well. Well back then it was either IE or Netscape and Netscape was far too slow and ugly at least to me. I never tried Firefox in the first year or so, but then one day I decided to give it a go. The best thing was, that after a crash or a power loss it remembered my pages and restored them. IE did not have that functionality at the time. I believe it does now?

Then was IE6 that was programmed by people who did not know what CSS stood for. Anyways, maybe everything is fixed now, but I just got used to FF.

If you aren't looking for changes, or some odd fixes, i'd stick with your current version.

I notice that IE has issues with a lot of things that FF doesn't have issues with..

Stupid example but when I've uploaded photos onto facebook and and trying to tag, it takes about 10-20 seconds for the box to come up to select the person to tag on IE, but in FF it comes up as soon as I've clicked.. I'm guessing thats a javascript thing? Not sure what they are coding with in Facebook..

I also notice on the forums that IE is hugely slow whereas FF is really fast. I'm still on the last version of FF btw..

Just tried out the new Aurora FF 5.02a. Things look good. Mozilla says they will automatically make the FF4 addons be compatible with the FF5 which is good, no need to wait for the author to update it.

The problem I talked about earlier about DataTables, is fixed and FF now opens them as fast as Chrome. This build is almost visually identical to FF4, and although Mozilla claims it can run next to FF4, I had a few problems. Both browsers kinda of fought for which one will be default.

Also FF5 would disable your addons, then FF4 will start with disabled addons which u will have to re-enable. U also can't have both of them opened. For the sake of the thread title, I'd say FF isn't bad at all now .

I updated to FF4 2 days ago; first it looked completely different and none of my addons were working. But then the following day if cam back to normal for unknown reasons.

I like FF but what I would like to know is how comes it crashes at times (Not responding), don't they know multi-threading?

I'm going to try Chrome, getting sick of Firefox. Seems to freeze a lot on certain websites, and there are way too many updates for my liking.

Chrome, with its choppy scrolling? Chrome that after 3 years after its release still can't download files with torrent extensions temporarily and then delete them, rather than save them on my desktop? Chrome that caches the pages in such way, that when you revisit them you have to manually refresh to see updated version. Chrome that has far less extensions than FF? Thanks but no thanks.

I use Chrome as a back up browser and that's about it.

i'm not sure downloading torrents was it's priority intended use...haha...but as a webmaster i find the seo plugins great for checking web pages on the fly, to make sure the keywords, alts and whatever are within the permitted length....+ plus its the fastest browser ive tried and the developer tools are pretty awesome.

When there's a thread in Google's forums, that's gazillion pages long, full with people asking for this feature, I'd say it's a priority for many people out there. Ignoring their needs seems like a mistake as many claim this is the only reason for not switching to Chrome.

Anyways choosing a browser is always a Personal Preference. I've always been a fan of open source.

I updated to FF 5 when I got a new computer and I hated it at first. Now I'm not noticing too much difference.

I also updated to IE9 and I HATE IT. With a passion. They have tried to make it like FF and just totally screwed it up.

Regarding chrome, I heard that Google was bringing out a tablet or a laptop where the OS is self reliant. If something happens it reinstalls itself on it's own etc. It's supposed to be for people who don't know how to use a computer basically. Anyone else hear about that?

I'm FF to the core... but that's only because it never seems to have the problems that everyone else does. I did the obligatory IE update, and accidentally started it up after clicking some link, or it automatically popuped and I started to groan.. and I was actually concerned that my lappy was going to start slowing down and chunking. FU IEEEEE.. FFFFFFFF... UUUUUUU.
