My links page is overloaded and I am not getting many hits from any of the listings grrrrr

What can I do to get more traffic?

Work harder lol, make sure your targeting the right keywords, start on small keywords then work your way up, make sure your using good anchor text. How long have you had your site? if its less than a year you could still be sandboxed in google.

My site is only 1 month old. I used Traffic Blazer before I submitted to the search engines. It had a Google Optimization Tool. Not looking to get rich, just make enough money on the side to gamble lol. Thanks for your input.
I seem to get more traffic by posting at forums. Its a lot of work and some of them get really mean but overall that's the best way I have gotten hits so far. The 3 weeks of building my links page was hardly worth it.
The internet sources say ezines is the best form of advertising, but I have had a hard time finding any that are gambling related, etc.
I will just keep plugging away

it will take a while before you get traffic from search engines....some people buy traffic...or pay for search engine listings.

Another way it to buy some expired domain names with traffic or links...and divert that traffic to your portal.

My personnal opinion is dont target and rely on google - "build it and they will come". yahoo, msn etc seem to be easier to get ranked in in the short term - if you build quality and get yours links made google will come eventually - just think of it as a pleasant surprise waiting to happen.

Your not really going to get many players if any posting at forums, buying traffic is a waste of time as well, you might be lucky and get a player every now and then. I suggest keep working on getting quality backlinks, its going to take a lot longer than 3 weeks, i would say at least 3 months. You said your links page was overloaded, then i suggest you make another page or use reciprocal manager and split your links into categories. A lot of us here at the gpwa have been working on getting backlinks for a while and some of the high ranking sites have many thousands of backlinks.

This is very true.

1 month online is almost nothing. I would be surprised if you're making money at your first month, unless you buy traffic.

This is an investment. Your first months are for building your business. Write good content, learn the business, optimize, exchange links, and the likes. You will be rewarded in the future for that initial investment.

I just look into your links page. Don't you think it is a little heavy?

You have 427 URL's and 235 images.

This is like a banner farm. I think this is not good either for you or your partners.

Not to mention some annoying javascript... And that links page was still loading after 60 seconds on a DSL connection.

Take a look at other websites - you'll see a big difference. Build up some content - a bunch of banners is not very effective. And you have to be willing to build at least 6 months - most people say that's how long it takes to build any income. This is a tough industry...

There's no where online to buy good gambling traffic. If you plan on doing offline advertising it might be different.

You will never receive real traffic from link exchanges. The reason for the exchanges is to get backlinks and to help your search engine rankings.

It takes at least 3 months before you'll start ranking well, with google it can take a year to even get your website listed. Dont expect to earn anything before 3 - 6 months and that's if you actually work hard.

I think the first page is great. I do agree that some of the other pages are a little heavy on the graphics, as well as the java script or whatever else is running in the background. All and all I think your off to a great start.

Chris,

Your Nomorehits link is wrong as that is not the signup link but the browse link.

I have found that the majority of the traffic from these type of places is predominantly other webmasters, and although you may score an occassional player, most visitors that actually see your site are only doing so in order to earn credit for visitors to their own sites.

If your site or offer is targeted to other webmasters, you may see better reponses.

I didn't get listed in the SE's for 6- 12 months after I started, and I didn't buy any traffic until www.videopokerjunkie.com was over 2 years old. But I got my first commission check in the 3rd month, and was making mid 4 figures before the end of the year.

How? Messageboards and Top Lists.

Be the first one out there with any new freebies, or any new casinos (make sure you post in the proper place & in a respectful manner), and make sure you give your few visitors content worth coming back to look at time after time.

Yes, I was getting a lot of hits from http://autohits.dk, but like you said mostly other webmasters trying to get credits. I didn't get any casino sign ups from the whole time I used them-just hits.

Hey, Chris 28 something is wrong with your site http://www.getrich.uk.com if I use FireFox I can see all your pages in HTML only but it works fine with IE???

the same problem. Home page is ok but others are in html only.
