Default How do you provide support related to problem gambling?

Recently, in the private GPWA forums, one of our members shared a personal experience with problem gambling. Personally, that posting and the resulting discussion has caused me to think about what webmasters like ourselves should be doing to help.

One area I've thought about is supporting and creating awareness of resources that can help those who have encountered difficulties with problem gambling. In this week's poll I ask about what GPWA members have done in this area with the idea that this might encourage us to do more.

In addition to answering the poll question, I encourage members to share their thoughts about how we could be of help either individually or collectively.

I created a guide within my site that outlines all the "issues" a player can face and how to deal with them, including an article on managing a gambling budget. My approach is not to give the standard "dont gamble" speech, because it would be hypocritical, but to provide advice on how to keep within limits. It's also available oNn Casinomeister as an "FAQ" if anyone wants a read or to research for their own pages (just don't rip it please ). Or you can link to the original (it doesnt contain any affiliate links or banners btw) at http://www.oggs.com/online-casino-guide/

I have pages on how to budget your playing so you don't get into trouble and also a page or two explaining problem gambling with links to relevant help groups. I also make sure that there is no advertising on any pages related to problem gambling.

I have pages on my site linking to Gamcare and explaining problem gambling. I will also in the future donate a part of gambling revenue to these support groups.
