Default How important is a Media Kit for affiliates?

Hi all, I am returning to GPWA after a while. Hope you are all good and making good money being fair
At Betizen.org I do not go after operators/brands/affiliate managers, I *only* list those projects that find value on us and show interest first. Negotiation is radically different that way, since it’s not about a sales pitch but about “how can I help you” (we charge for listings).
Our site is ok in emerging markets, we have good traffic and results for the project’s goals, but sometimes (after we are asked for) we wonder: Would it add or diminish our value as a project to publish a fully transparent media kit?

    cheers to you all!

Since you are charging for listings, you're asked for a media kit so the affiliate manager can send something clear they can send over to the boss who signs off on that fee. The affiliate manager wants all the new active affiliates they can get from the start, their mind is probably already made up, the boss is the one who decides if it's worth it to pay - and often the boss probably doesn't like having to spend a whole lot of time assessing a site as that's the affiliate managers job.

A media kit simplifies that to get the yes or no. Plus without one, it's up to the affiliate manager to pitch it to the boss and the boss may want to see something formal rather than "hey look at this site we should be on". Not only more work for for the affiliate manager and the boss, but you are relying on them to portray your business throughly and in the best light. I'd say yes it'd be helpful for the way you do business and wouldn't hurt, and by not having one, you may be missing out on partners if the exchange between the affiliate manager and boss ends there.

The fact you're charging for listings reason enough to have a formal media kit. I see no draw back, if those type of B2B negotiations happen often I'd say one would just be an essential formality at the least for your brand, almost just business etiquette at that point. As a newer site I don't do any of that, so far I just forgo the zoom/skype/telgram/whatsapp interview all together, I just want to get my links and go. When I grow to where there's enough business where it'll make a difference, I may do a different approach. Lastly for you, if the boss is impressed and agrees, better chance to get one of them elusive casino affiliate page backlinks, they may figure if they're paying for something better get a testimonial too.

Media kits carry no weight in Affiliate Business.

Affiliate deals are for the most part performance based deals: RS, CPA, Hybrid.
Media buys could be on CPL, CPM ect.

For any site wanting to earn from CPM or flat rate media deals they need to prove organic traffic counts.
ie. 50K site visits a month would be needed.

If you show poorly in Ahrefs or SEM rush and your asking for flat rates. It's not likely going to get considered.
