How much to advertise local football team ?

Hi all,

I have a good contact with my local football team who currently play in the evo-stick southern league, I'm wondering how much would I expect to pay them to advertise my website on their homepage and would it be worth it ?

They get around 2.5k visitors per mth

Or should I ask them just to exchange links with me ?

Any advice would be great !!

This isn't an easy question to answer. It depends on what people do come there, visit the website, etc. I do sponsor some sport teams, but CTR is quite low. Those websites usually have a huge amount of returning visitors that stick to that website.

Like I said, i do sponsor some teams, but that's just a big gamble. Few good players and I did a good job, if those few good players do not appear, it's waste of money. Sponsor local teams is more interesting for people operating local, like the local supermarket or a local car vendor. And for many sponsors it's more like charity than really business.

Prices are different. Usually sport teams do sell sponsor packages, including a banner on their website, board sponsorship, be in the club magazine, etc.

Good points, probably best for local businesses as you say many returning visitors, I may still look at some small sponsorship for the team in question and see how it goes.
