Question How much does your revenue vary from month to month?

Revenue as an affiliate can vary a lot from month to month. Seasonal fluctuations can play a roll in that, but for most affiliates just the natural variation in players winning and loosing can make a huge difference from month to month.

If I look at the affiliate revenue from one major site for which I have the data, I can see that the best month in the past year had revenue that was a whopping 171% of the average monthly revenue. And I can see the worst month in the past year had revenue that was only 64% of the average monthly revenue. For small affiliates, I expect the variance can be much larger, since chance earnings from a whale one month could easily swallow up smaller earnings from a number of other months.

How about you? If you look at your best month of 2015, how much better was it than your average month? And how much of the variance due you think was due to seasonal fluctuations, changes under your control, or due purely to random statistical fluctuations?

Last Summer I had my worst ever months, this month is looking to be my best ever month. The difference between the 2 is about 10x.

I find that generally most months are in a +/- 15% range from the average.

Sometimes I have wild 500%+ fluctuations thanks to high rollers.

    Yes!

For a small webmaster one single player can increase the revenue share a hundredfold.
And the same single player can be the last step towards the abyss.
And you never know, when this player will visit your website.

The subject matter for a small webmaster is uncontrollable and has the same prediction value than a player who will predict red or black for the next single roulette spin.

For a small webmaster past experiences are the only point of reference, but it does not have any influence to the future, not even for one single day.

Good question. At the beginning fluctuations were much bigger, but right now my revenue vary much less. I checked my stats and in my best month I earned about 2x times more than in my worse. However, I try to keep savings which can cover my current expenses for at least 3 months

Hope this month (and all this year) will be really good for you!

Please remember that the poll is asking about variations between your best month and your "average", not your worst.

Fairly consistent nowadays but the biggest last year was almost double the average for 2015.

    175% to 200% .
I work with a lot of webs and normally a low +/- 15% to 30% , but some months new high roller players increase the earnings to almost 200%.

Fairly consistent for me, my worst month (June/July-ish) was half my average due to summer low. My best month was around 1.3 times my average.

Pretty consistent from month to month in general - unless a big winner takes a sizeable chunk, which is rare. When there is no international football tournament (World Cup or Euros) in June/July things do drop off by about half though.

    +1

It is impossible to predict the high rollers, but they are what makes the affiliate business exciting.

Apart from that, I notice a slight increase in revenue during the autumn. I guess my referred clients does not gamble as much during the summer months.

Sportsbetting revenue is changing depending on what events and tournaments I've focused my content on. For example, I am looking forward to the 2016 Olympics, European football championships and World Cup of hockey.

I think that the larger your operation gets, the less your % fluctuation would be yes? Given that a single whale winning or losing can't move your balance sheet as much... Just speculation

I voted no more than 150% move off the avg. It was our worst summer ever though, normally we grow through that time period and this summer we finally saw the seasonal retraction everyone else complains about ;(

Fluctuations on last days or last hours are worrying me more than a month that is a bit less than the month before...
