How to Remove 'Published By' Info on Wordpress Site?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to remove the 'published by' info from the top of a Wordpress post?
As an example, I wanted to remove 'Posted 15 hours ago by gamblingjoe in £100 Jackpots ' from http://slotsinyourpocket.com/deal-or-no-deal-double-up/

I've tried a plugin, but that didn't work, so I'm thinking it's in a php folder somewhere, but I'm wary of poking around in those folders.

you should have something like a post.php file on your template folder and its just a matter of edit it and remove that string.

edited: shoud be somnewhere on /wp-content/themes/puzzles/

you have a typo after remove the string: "Posted by in" you forgot to remove the "by"

Thanks, I can't find where that text is written, nor how to remove the dates from the stream on the home page.

Just to mention that such part of the Wordpress template could be stored in different files. This is why probably the best way is to open all of them and to search for the String you want to remove

Also just be aware that if you update the theme directly (no idea if you did, but guessing it's likely), the changes will be overwritten and go back to how it was previously.

You can get around this by using a child theme, or just making a note of the changes so you can edit the theme files again after an update.

Yep baldidiot, was a quick editing trough wp-admin on template files, (removing 2 or 3 strings on 2 files). The best way was definitively the child template but on this case I dont have access to ftp nor anything than wp-admin.

For people needing this and having shell access to server a "grep -r "some text" /path/to/folder" shows the files to change, alternatively you can download your template and search for text on your pc/mac/device...
