Default How would you handle this?

I have a forum on my site. I just found out last night that one of the members has been private messaging other members telling them that they are an affiliate for one of the casinos and would kick back part of the affiliate fee if they joined under him. This guy is not new and should know better.

Would you ban him right of the bat or just give him a warning?

He is trying to profit from your hard work building your forum. I would ban him immediately.

    Ban him immediately.

Also, expose him to the other affiliates.

Ban his IP AND tell the affiliate program he is spamming your forum (he is sending unsolicited offers, so it is spam)

Here's something for you all. You remember Corel? Did you know that the CEO and founder knew the company was going to die long before it actually did? It wasn't inside information or some psychic..

The amount of pirated product that was from corel dramatically dropped. When this happened he sold most of his stock.

Sometimes little criminals are the best form of flattery, so I know this is going to sound strange, but congratulations on the spammers!

If you run a forum you should always have a spare account setup to check that people are not spammin your members. Also before banning make sure you obtain websites in signature so that you can identify him if he joins as a new member again.
