IE VS Firefox on my sitee - could use a hand pls

Hi guys and Gals. I just finished setting up the basics of my new forum and am having a serious issue. On Firefox the site looks great ( If I do say so myself lol ) but in IE the forum looks 100% different and awful. Can anybody who has both please have a look and tell me if they see the same issue I do. Thanks soo much for the help.

they look the same to me except for some margin/padding issues.
Although the links at the top home portal etc.. touch the bottom line in IE and align for the most part in FF.

Can you be more specific?

I get the horz scroll bar in both browsers on a 22" monitor.

In any event, css margins and padding are calculated differently in IE and FF with FF being the compliant browser.

I usually set the default margin and padding to 0 for all html elements in the stylesheet as follows:

body {
* margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}

Actually I noticed that in IE it looks sooo crunched and cannot view topics etc. I will try the suggestion about padding though. My monitor is only 19"

Both look the same and fine to me, I am using Vista IE8 FF 3.? and 17" WS laptop monitor. I have found that looking in different O.S. make as big a difference as browsers too. (XP vs. Vista).

Also looked in Safari, Chrome and Opera, all are ok.

GPWA seal is rather overcoming in the right column, perhaps a tad smaller would work. JMO.

The float is cool too, can you add, "not now" as the only option is to sign up and don't ask again. If you have a "Not Now" option you may pick up a few more sign ups at a return visit.

There is usually a big difference with IE6 as it does not handle java script well.
I heard that there are still a lot of browsers using the outdated IE6.

I actually have no idea why the gpwa logo is so big. I choose a regular size banner and it just showed up huge for no real good reason lol.

The actual issue im having is not the main portal page but the forum itself. I just dont want to launch it and have it look like crap.

Yeah. It looks fine to me too. My IE is version 8. It depends with OS I think and some Multimedia Readers. I'm using vista and I updated all of the latest for all my application especially Adobe.

what resolution are you using? I was using 1024x768 which may be why I get the horz scroll bar.

The site looks great on both IE8 and FF 3.0.10. I am using XP. You must have removed the GPWA logo because I found none.
