I think its a mute point. casinos have every right to bring in player however they see fit ..... although I've always found cross-promoting without giving credit to the aff that originally brought in the player a bit distasteful but am forgiving about this matter to one or two programs because they make me enough money I don't whine.

In most cases its reason for not listing the program. The progams that I do still list in such case .... I simply make sure to keep a disclaimer on my site asking players if they are interested in joining another casino in that network ... to return to my site and choose from there.

I always recommend players NOT to visit a casino via an email link because they cut out their best friend. a 3rd party that has interest that they are treated right.

refer a friend? I have no right to complain against a casino for taking this approach IMHO.

If I am reading this correctly you are asking how the refer a friend bonus affects your earnings? In that case they would be affected as with any bonus where your percentage of the bonus is deducted (until the player plays it back or cashes out).
Or..
If your player is referring a friend and you believe you should be credited for that friend that is different and a good question. Ideally that would be the case but I don't believe you will be linked to that 3rd party player. That is something you can take up with your affiliate manager but since you did not bring in that player, I am not surprised it would not be linked to you.

This is different than cross promoting in which the programs contact your players to join other casino partners (of theirs) without benefit to you. Cross promoting is wrong imo.

Let 'em find those offers themselves - which is the best I guess anyone can do...

If I understand the question, it is an interesting situation. Should an affiliate be charged the bonus awarded to a referred player who sends his friend... The obvious answer is no, since the bonus is a finder fee, not related to their play... but I dont think most casinos distinguish bonus types.

Casinos and Poker rooms are entitled to market any way that they feel appropriate. Affiliates do NOT have an exclusive license to promote a program.

And we know that affiliates on REV-SHARE make a lot of money off the programs bottom line that is relatively risk free and I'm that the programs would love to reduce it ...

The idea of player referrals is a good one for the programs - after all a satisfied player can make a great salesman - and generally they are ignorant as to how much their efforts could be worth under an affiliate schemem.

However, also I believe that this area is also rife with small time fraud as well - where players induce other players to signup with payments - and where players attempt to create false identities to register many times.

I don't feel threatened by it - indeed I know that I do a far better job in bringing high paying players - so I'm happy for the efforts that players make to publicise online gaming.

As long as the programs do ring-fence these bonuses so the award is not also charged to the original referring affiliate then I have no problem with them utilising this mechanism.

The casinos definitely have a right to do the "tell a friend" promo.

Still I feel they would be competing with me and I have always avoided landing pages which display this offer. On occasion I have avoided casinos that push this alltogether.

Most certainly I have never pushed this type of offer for a casino.

This is one my suggestion.

I think that one good affiliation to have more success must considerate the player that was refered from one frend as player of the affiliate webmaster.

In this way, a lot of webmaster'll focus on this possibility in own website, then a lot of wembaster'll write in owner website this possibility to earn refering one frend.

I do not have a problem with the "refer a friend" promotion that casinos offer. I think it is a smart marketing strategy for the casinos to get more people to come play at their site. I do ok with my affiliate marketing efforts, so I do not mind this kind of promtion that the casinos use, even though I do not get credit for that player.
