    Default Including Images on Sitemaps

    Do you guys include your images in your sitemaps? I had the media deselected on the yoast sitemap but I decided i would give it a try about a week ago. I was doing manual serp checks and say a page in the serps for just an image. Do I need to keep the media in the sitemap in order to rank images on google?

    I keep all images in the sitemap, I can't say it's a negative to have or not as I have never tried hiding them, I even just unchecked categories and have noticed a big boost on pages that normally dont get traffic.. "Archive pages"

    I just create sitemap.xml file for URL only.

    Is it important to create image sitemap?
