    Default Interactive Flash Banners effective?

I've been seeing interactive flash banners that allow people to play a slot game and whatever they 'win' they can claim as a prize upon sign-up. Do you think these are effective?

My initial assumption just looking at it was that clicking on the banner would just take me to the site and I didn't realize I could actually 'play' with it. It was neat once I realized I could play, but had i not, I'm not sure I would have clicked.

I wonder if they're actually effective at enticing people to click/play before signing up.

    Thoughts?

I am sure that they probably are quite effective if people figure that out. I remember being told years ago that the awful banners that look like windows application buttons often converted better than the sparkly casino banners did.

It usually depends on your visitors. Different traffic responds to different types of banners. It always makes sense to cycle through a few different banners and see how your visitors respond.

I have been working my way away from banners and never trusted flash banners as I was not convinced they tracked 100%. With that being said, text links are working better than the flash of the carnival side show.

    Thanks for the input everyone!
I've been testing these banners with Game Account in RedHotPartners, they're neat but was curious about feedback since I haven't seen tons of them.

    Cheers!
