Congratulations. How much did you pay? By the way ... when did you acquire casinolistings?

the paid price was $300,000. CasinoListings.com is our partner website, and was started by LCB's founder Josh Chan and another partner who runs the site.

Thanks, I actually wasn't expecting an answer on the purchase price I have noticed keytocasino a while ago and thought it's a massive site that just needs to be monetized the right way. Considering the sheer amount of info on keytocasino, $300,000 looks like a good deal to me. My guess is that the founder just ran out of energy and patience. Then again ... you also managed to acquire wizardofodds.com for $2.35 million which imho was a steal. Particularly when comparing it to some other (overpriced) purchases in the industry. Good job.

No prob and yes we always announce the price paid ( not sure why we did not mention it in our news, but we did send PRs with the paid price ).

K2C is one helluva website and some of the information and data there even LCB does not have ( soon to be changed ofc )

Obviously I cannot go into the details surrounding the acquisition but We believe that $300K is a fair price and each side is obviously happy with this arrangement,.

I can say the same thing for WoO , especially coz some folks like you think it was a steal, while others think we overpaid it. All I can say that we are extremely happy with that purchase and so is Mike ( the Wizard himself ) who remained on board as now one of our employees and as the main content provider and consultant.

We also paid a fair buck for WorldCasinoDirectory ( Full Story Here , again to a mutual satisfaction. )

But you are right some of the recent purchases in the industry might be considered as overpriced but hey CatenaMedia and other public companies can easily raise capital so they can afford to "overpay".

But its all matter of perception and business plan, what might seem expensive or overpaid to one it might seem normal to other.

Thanks for providing details. My impression is that with all your acquisitions you try to find underperforming sites that have huge potential. On the contrary, public companies like Catena must make acquisitions that primarily keep their investors happy. That's two very different investment strategies. Anyway, congratulations again!

True. They seem to look for websites that have quite some opportunities to monetize them even more. A totally different approach than some others that are buying websites that seem to be a bit inflated. Also, there is less risk that rankings will drop after updates.

I don't know the revenue of this website, but I also, think it's fishing in another place because some companies won't buy anything that has a calculated worth of less than a million.

Also, Casinolistings is a very nice said. Nice portfolio of websites !

WOO by far was the best buy, right place right time I suppose, it's my favourite Casino site by far nothing else compares in terms of quality

thanks all for the kind words

Other than WoO which indeed was not optimized for conversions and even for the most part promoted only one casino ( bodog/bovada ) , all other sites were more or less optimized and making decent earnings, but also had a lot of room to improve.

Also what do you consider as under-performing, revenue only? For instance the true value of WoO was not its earnings, but the content and its rankings. And it was and still is performing quite well there, and the commissions came after we did some tweaks.

When we purchased WoO , the site was not making much and it was struggling before that. So how do you determine a value there? You cannot apply any known multipliers as then the site wouldnt be worth much, especially not $2.35 mil that we paid.

But it was a good prospect for us, and we saw the opportunity and knew we can optimize the site. But the risk was always there.

My point is there are different aspects that you are to take into consideration when presented with choice to acquire another website.

I guess you may argue what We do is pretty much the same thing as CatenaMedia but on a smaller scale, as far as the expansion goes.

Experience. In my eyes is it better to buy a ugly page with nice seo background than a page with nice design and kicked seo.
    Seo still need more time/knowhow.
