OK I'm a newbie. With all of the affiliate programs out there, who do you pick? This is like looking far a good looking woman at the Miss America contest......they all are!

Can you install more than one affiliate program at a time on your web site or is it standard business to sign and stay with one per site?

I strongly recommend you work with at least 2 or 3 programs. It's too risky placing all your eggs in one basket. If a program goes bust or turns rogue, you want at least one or two back up programs to keep the commissions rolling in.

As for choosing the right ones.... we need to dig deeper into your specific business plan. Casino / poker / slots / bingo? Target market? No deposit vs deposit bonuses? Will you be running special promotions such as tournaments? Will you be opening a forum?

Choosing the correct aff programs is a critical component of your overall strategy and will potentially make or break your business.

I have never had any dealing with them, nor have I checked out their terms, quality of service, etc.
GoDaddy and Bluehost are both reputable. Some of the members here offer hosting as well. I believe Universal4 is in the business.

You need to indeed check first who your market is, who are you targeting and which niche are you looking for...

When you have everything planned then you can start looking for the programs. Indeed there are alot of programs.. If you want to move into the poker arena.. then I can say that Big Bet Poker is one of the fastest growing poker rooms on the merge network. You can PM me if you want more info.

Best to find a program that will be able to provide you with the services your require in line with your target audience and business development cycle.

Things to remember are:

1) Does the program have a good reputation for working with affiliates (any of the forums you have access to would give you a ggod idea of the PR that's happened on a program and how they have handled tricky cases)

2) Do their T&C's look fair (check Affiliate Guard Dog to see what is Affiliate friendly)

3) Do they provide a good service - can they support all languages (your site might be in english now but when you try to grow your business to other coutnries can they grow with you)

4) Are their comissions fair - check what Net Revenue really is - it should be detailed in their T&C's

5) Are they approachable - will you be able to build a long lasting relationship with your affiliate manager - will they understand your business and your business needs as you grow and will they be there to support you!

There are plenty of programs out there that are trusted and have built solid reputations over time in this industry - and you will be recommended many - but you will need to do the research to see if you want to be associated to these programs for yourself and then align to what will work best with your business plans overall.

Hi everyone

I have a site that is relatively young still in the market and I'm looking to add some poker sites to it.

If I'm brutally honest I haven't got the time or exterise to reasearch this market myself so wanted to open it up to some of the experts on here.

Not sure if poker sites do the whole sub affiliate thing but more than happy to do that and maybe get some links exchnaged at the asame time ?

This may not be a vaible idea but thought I would throw it open to everyone.

This thread was started by jctroy440 and dealt with recommendations on which programs to pick and how to go about deciding how to pick them.

It was NOT about you soliciting the programs and other affiliates to hit you with links for programs to join.

Basically you have hijacked the thread that freeeasy started and attempted to take it in a different direction.

The question you asked is a valid one, and this would be the appropriate forum for them, but they are better suited in there own thread.

You can also check places like AGG, Thepokerkeep's site (listed in his sig) as well as reading the threads here at the GPWA.

By taking the time to do a bit of research now you will save yourself lots of time later by picking programs that have stood the test of time and those that will be less likely to need replaced later.

Apologies for any offence caused , however it was genuine attempt by me to give something back to some of the more experianced members of the site by piggy backing off some of their sites (and giving them some revenue) rather than go direct to the poker sites themslves (perhaps this was misunderstood).

"Hijack" is a bit strong and I LOVE HOW PEOPLE PUT THINGS IN CAPS TO EMPHASISE THEIR POINT- it never fails to make me smile

As a relative newbie to the boards i was trying not to clutter the it up with another thread as I did do some reasearch but genueinely couldn't find anything relevant. I suppose I will err on the side of caution and just start a new tread next time otherwise i will be terminally branded a "Hijacker " and don't want that on my record next time i fly into the states !!

If you take note to my post above, the only word I put in Caps was NOT, except for the intitials of a few forums I mentioned.

As a mod here (something I take VERY seriuously) I try and point out thread hijackings as they occur and often give a bit more explanation when I do so as a help to the poster as well as an attempt to try and show others reading the thread why it was considered hijacked in hopes that they know that it's not only ok to start new threads but preferred when it appears the thought or idea they are posting about doesn't seem to be covered in anyt current threads.

I completely understood the direction your post was going and in fact stated so when I said:
