Default Linux has always been vulneralbe to malware

    http://www.pcworld.com/article/30904...d-devices.html

(All operating systems could have trojans and other malware, it's just that the larger the marketshare (windows) the more targets available and the more people with poor security habits.)

Here is one case exposed of malware affecting linux embedded systems which has led to more than 100 DDos botnets being used to attack other sites, devices and servers.
