Default Looking to create a website

Hi after months of research, and nearly completing my database I am now looking at finally getting my site up and running.

I am thinking of buying a template design off a site called theme forest. Just wanted to get opinions from others on how you went about creating you site, and the rough cost for doing so.

    Many thanks,
    George

    Hi George,

Always went the same path: buying from Themeforest. We have a guy who sets the website up for us, so it's not a problem really. Wordpress is easy to manipulate so go for it and good luck!

Better use Flytonic. Their themes are more fit for affiliate business than most of the ThemeForest-things. Also their support is great, while support level at most Theme Forest-companies is questionable.

Themeforest is nice, I have an e-commerce website built on one of the cheapest themes there (50 bucks I think) and it works just fine. I got incredible support for a couple of tricky things, so maybe I was lucky (in relation to what Triple7 said).
    Betdistrict.com - free betting tips & previews
    Happybags.ro - romanian e-commerce website
WW2HistoryBook - World War Two Library

Out of 5 website themes which I bought from Themeforest only one company-developer disappeared, others provided excellent service. You just need to make sure that theme is always updated and company/person has other themes as well with good comments in his profile!

I would suggest not to buy template themes. As clean theme as possible will get you the oppertunity you need to learn som basic html and css. You can just ask on the forums och google whatever you need to create

Thanks for all of the support and useful information guys, really appreciate it. Flytronic seem to do pretty much what I want, so will contact them to ask a few direct questions. I am sure I will be back on here soon enough with a few more questions, thanks again.

One more good thing to learn is to only learn those things you need. Dont waste your time with html and css courses that will teach you things you dont need. Think about what you want and google / ask how to do it and just continue that

Having knowledge of at east the basics in html (and css) will come in extremely handy over the long term.

Even if you do everything in wordpress and plug-ins that perform additional database lookups instead of faster straight html links (such as affiliate links) knowing the basics can and will help you debug the little things and minor issues that come up while developing a site or pages.

I agree with universal4 that having some basic knowledge of html and css will take you a far way.
