Default Looking for Some Advice and Tools

My SEO journey has started okay, learning fast and enjoying the Hurdles. Was wondering who could help me with some questions ?

I have looked at some SEO tools for Firefox, and keep hitting some Spam tools.

Alexa Ranking and MOZ seo toolbar are only 2 i have active now.

1)I am looking for a tool that shows if page is dofollow or nofollow. Trying to find other sports forums that are dofollow.
2)Any other Adons or tools that are worth adding on.
3)Trying to find Backlinks and Rating of a single page and not the domain. So how many links that one page has.

    Thanks in Advance

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

    1) Can you explain what you looking for? A link is follow or nofollow, but a page?
    2) A good add on for SEO is SEOquake. They have a toolbar and a page with parameters. It can also line through all nofollow links.
    3) Link Research Tools is a great package of tools. Their Quick Backlinks tool and Backlink Profiler tool can give you all backlinks to a page. And they will also give you all statistics for the pages that link to your page.

    Good luck!

I think you are mixing things up. A page is not follow or nofollow. A page can be index or no-index. A link is follow or nofollow.

If you want a good tool then I would suggest to invest some money in the most important once. It is not necessary to have a permanent access but from time to time a monthly access definitely makes sense. Link Detox for example is a good tool to check your backlink structure further a good site analyser would also help with your seo. If you are looking for a tool to check internal duplicate content I can suggest siteliner. This tool gives you a good overview and some more free checks that can help a lot. I would not work with free toolbars or things like that.

As an aside to other suggestions: I use a free service from siteliner.com (an assocate of copy-scape) which tells you about duplicate content at your site (should be 10% or less), how fast your site loads and more in comparison to other sites. The free version you can get once/month. Also Xenu to check for broken links and all outside links from your site. Hope this helps.
Oops, just noticed this is a duplicate suggestion. So, will add Bing Webmaster tools sign up that allows you to add up to 50 site pages/month to crawl. Good for new pages and forgotten back pages that you want noticed.

I use Firefox a lot and can suggest a few useful Firefox add-ons/tools:

RankChecker: Type in a domain and a list of keywords and viola! http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/rank-checker/

Mustat: Can give a half decent estimate of how much traffic a site gets.

SEO Quake has some useful features like Site Diagnosis....

    Cheers,

Do you know SEOquake has an option to tell if a link is nofollow? You can select an option in SEOquake so that all nofollow links are strikethrough.

If you go to SEOquake options. In the first tab you have "General Preferences". The 3rd checkbox is 'Highlight "nofollow" links'. Enable this checkbox and save. This option will strikethrough all nofollow links.
