Lucky Club Casino (Jackpot Capital) confiscates over USD 5k without reason

I have a balance of USD 5.892 in my Lucky Club Casino account and was awaiting a bank draft before the casino stopped payments to players and affiliates in 2009.

Unfortunately my withdrawal never got processed either. I believed the casino would have gone out of business until I recently found out that Lucky Club casino is still running. Jackpot Capital acquired the casino last year but I never received a notification about this by the time it happened.

A few weeks ago I downloaded their software again but found my account to be locked. I contacted their customer service to request an explanation but received no response. I then emailed their affiliate program, eventually received a reply and was told that they have no intention to unlock my account, as they are “contractually bound to the decisions the previous owners have made”. Of course this statement is absolute nonsense; Jackpot Capital took over Lucky Club Casino including its player database. No term was broken either but they are refusing to honor the balance.

Quite frankly, I have always had a professional impression of Jackpot Capital but this is completely changing my view of them.

I strongly suggest players and affiliates to stay away from their brands. I will continue to issue respective warnings until Lucky Club Casino resolves this situation fairly by processing the payment.

I'm not an expert on situations like this but it seems to me that if a casino is acquired by a new company, that this new company would also take over any debts (in this case an outstanding positive balance on a player account) the casino had?

From my perspective (and certainly also from a player perspective), I think it would be fair and also logical for the new owner to pay the player his/her money??

FWIW, I've been acting as an unofficial middleman between Shankie and the casino in the hope of facilitating a resolution here. I've seen enough documentation to know that there's no dispute over the money involved - the last communication from casino to player was a request for standard verification docs, with no suggestion that payment might not have been forthcoming. They simply didn't pay.

The team that took over say that it's not their responsibily. Problem is: the player played at their casino, won an uncontested amount at their casino, and hasn't been paid by their casino. We can tapdance around the technicalities, but this remains the case. It's unfortunate that the new team took over from people who failed to disclose their debts in full (and it's not hard to imagine why they kept quiet), but the player remains owed.

The affiliate manager was entirely polite in his communications with me, with the small caveat that his claim that he is "contractually obliged" to not pay is utterly ludicrous. But he still stands firm that this debt will not be honoured. This is wrong.

Yes its one of those things that puts affiliates, players and the casino in a rough spot.

Its of my opinion the new casino should make some room for negotiations! to simply not honor the player anything is terrible.

It shows a real lack of responsibility for how they want their image to appear.

It sends warning signals that they may withhold wins from even new players.

Bad decision on their part for such a small amount of money. I would certainly never look at them

When a casino is acquired by another company, it is common practice that the customer database and balances are transferred as well. I do not know a single case where an existing brand was transferred without the players and their balances. This also would not make much sense.

Caruso indeed tried to mediate and achieve a fair solution, for which I am very grateful. Unfortunately there has not been any progress as of now, but what he says is true. There is not, nor has there ever been any explanation about why I am not being paid. Of course there also is no reason.

The last I heard from the previous owners was:

Exactly, same thing I was thinkin as well Caruso...hopefully, this decision was not based on this $5K that's still owed to Schankwart.

They say that Rich Club Affiliates will stay being in charge of all affiliate matters, which is essentially Jackpot Capital which is also Intertops for all intents in my belief.

Really don't know why they cannot be more transparent about this connection!

I hope the "new owner" will finally settle the debts, unless he/ she wants to launch a brand that will be known for non-payments.

Of course the warnings for the Jackpot Capital/ Slotastic group will be kept up as well. Just to mention this once again: They confiscated the balance without any reason and explanation.

I would not have expected such theft from them a few weeks ago still, but this thread displays how things have changed.

I agree I think they should pay debts to players....

As a show of support for players I think we should all tell the "new group" if they wanna call themselves that, that we will NOT work with them until we are sure they have made attempts to take care of these old debts....

I sent another email to Lucky Club Casino CS yesterday and received no reply again. They did not answer any of my requests since I first contacted them a few weeks ago. If the new owner continues to ignore this I will be left no choice but to issue additional warnings about his casino as well.

Something else you might want to read Schankwart is a thread over at Casinomeister from about a year ago when the Jackpot Capital Group bought and took over the Grande Vegas Casino. There were also players with Grande Vegas that were in the same predicament as you are here, in the fact that they were not paid when JP bought them out.

Jackpot Capital did come thru for those players tho in the end and paid them...

Thank you for the info GamblingGuru. I am already aware of this. If Jackpot Capital really had been interested to do this properly and honestly, they should have contacted owed players after they bought out Lucky Club and Grande Vegas. They actually claim that "all players were contacted" after they bought the casinos, but I had an account at Grande Vegas as well and never received any information about this either.

The following statement was made by a J.C. representative in the Casino Meister thread you mentioned:

The Jackpot Capital Group is pleased to announce, after deliberations with Grande Vegas’ previous management, our decision to pay the players in question and furthermore, that their Grande Vegas accounts have already been credited with their missing funds.

Of course you honor balances when you purchase a casino including the entire player database.

I don't know if this is applicable or not but in the UK if there is a dispute over money, you can commence a money claim on a government website, for the amount in question it would probably cost a couple of hundred quid. But if you put forth the evidence the respondent has to respond. Given the circumstances it doesn't sound like they will have a leg to stand on. So at the end of the day you would win the case and if they didn't pay the bailliffs would be called in. It's happened a few times in high profile cases one being when the bailliffs went into the natwest bank and confiscated one of the tills. Needless to say the bank coughed up quickly. Is there not anything like that where you are based?

Thank you for the suggestion but there is (almost) no option to go legally go against them. Their business is registered in Cyprus and there is no authority or institution that would care to settle this besides RTG's CDS. However, they are entirely dishonest and would also refuse to "mediate" because this dispute is older than 60 days already.
