It's clear that a beautiful site won't attract traffic and content is the key here. But I believe that targeting long tail keywords, something that everyone with limited resources is targeting should go hand in hand with good UX.

In my opinion, it's because being niche we can get some traffic, but not necessarily mass traffic and graphics, an intuitive site, the right calls to action will help convert that limited traffic.

Sure, at the beginning the founder of the topic should focus on the content because it is without discussion the basis, but it is better at the beginning to design the site as you want to target, because later as there are already hundreds of pages it is more difficult.

Anyway with links too, after the content, it's better to link to good content, then it can have more power.

But actually it's a bit offtopic because Ken seems to be using the popular Mercury theme.

A site about slots and casinos in general can also be niche, but certainly not for the UK market.

I still see that there are casinos with a Curacao license on other pages, I'm not sure if this might not be a bit of a problem for operators with a British license.

To be honest, your new sites (of course they are cool) are still not very niche.

I do hear you. The problem is that I had to use repurposed content. I was handicapped a little in this regard. I created both sites using content from my original site and I did it all in a single weekend. Other than creating a third site I don't know what I can do.

If you reused the content from Kenslots for these two new ones (ie copied it word for word without rewriting), then have you 301 redirected the relevant Kenslots pages? If not, then (in theory) you now have potential duplicate content issues.

Why 'in theory'?

Because if the Kenslots pages that you copied content from weren't indexed (and were unlikely to be at any point), then having a duplicate of them theoretically can't hurt you.

Note, even if they were indexed, there are scenarios where the pages on the new sites could outrank the Kenslots pages (or even index where Kenslots pages didn't), but still the common sense approach would be to 301 (unless perhaps if you thought the Kenslots content could have attracted some sort of penalty that could carry over to the new sites).

In GSC I have categories - Pages scanned, but not yet indexed. I dont know how google might treat these pages, in the context of reuse on another domain without redirection.

I think it's a toss up whether you should do that...

If the Kenslots pages weren't indexed, then it doesn't matter.

The trade off is - if they were indexed - does Google see the new site pages before it realises the old Kenslots pages have gone. If it doesn't, does it treat either of them as duplicate content and give one of them a black/grey mark. And then, which one. Rhetorical questions, no one will know the answer till it happens (or doesn't).

If you don't think there was anything wrong with Kenslots (ie no penalties) and the content was actually OK (as in valuable) then I'd say that on balance the safest way to deal with it would be/have been to 301 redirect. But there are plenty of variables that would be outside your control, so it's hard to be certain.
