Microgaming Game Download Options

I downloaded a Microgaming casino today via my 3G / HSDPA account in order to do a few game reviews etc. Once I had gained access to the Free Play section I selected the game I required to download. The phone rang and I got side tracked for a while, about ten minutes. When I returned to the application I noticed that the requested game had been downloaded along with a host of other games that I did not want. I checked my 3G connection and noticed that 150MB had been consumed. What a waste!

What happens if if I am a player who just wants to play Blackjack, do I now have to waste my precious 3G bandwidth and download Microgamings full selection of games that I do not want, just to play Blackjack, or do I select another software provider who gives me the option to download only the games I require.

Microgaming should really look at changing this. I'm sure it would also put less strain on their servers.

Wow, that is very very sneaky....
3G bandwidth is not cheap.... and especially not cheap here in Canada....
We pay more for cellphones than anywhere in the world...

This may be a setting the casino chooses.

When Spin3 launched the original Microgaming games for mobile i tested at Ladbrokes, Wild Jack and 32Red with downloads to a Nokia and at that time ( 2008 ) you were prompted to d/l the lobby first and then choose each game you wanted one by one. I think one of them had an option where you could choose the whole lot but i can't remember for sure.

I havent tried recently but take a look at say Laddies and see if that is still the same.

@Simmo - I'm not referring to their mobile casinos. This is actually an old issue I have experienced with Microgaming software. I've checked with numerous different Microgaming casinos in the past and there is no setting to turn the auto-download of all games on or off.

They should really consider doing this as more and more people are using mobile connections for their non mobile computers.

Ah yeah OK - this has long been an issue with Casinomeister players actually but Microgaming never implemented that option - they did centralise games when they download so that multiple casinos use the same access on your HD which was useful but didn't address this issue.

Yes, that's why I do not want to promote mobile casinos, I think mobile operators are not ready for large file transfers.

I imagine that from MGs perspective they want players to be able to play multiple games without having to wait for any downloads - I see their point. I guess they just don't think about people using mobile internet connections.

They need to change with the times. Good thing they don't own a chain of restaurants, imagine being force fed the entire menu.

The thing is that software providers pretty much have full option to implement what suits them best.

Similar thing happened with Playtech a little while back. They decided to stop offering a game which they deemed not popular enough but I had a few affiliates who were upset by this since their players liked that particular game.

Unfortunately, there is nothing much we can do in such circumstances.

It seems like what you are saying is that it's pointless to try and sway their opinion. It seems that Casino software providers are the only industry that does not listen or take note of their clients concerns. Oh, then again, players are not their clients, the casinos are. Maybe you guys need to stick together and be more vocal.
