I think I'd give that 1000GB a run for its money. I usually use around 8GB a month and that's being careful. Probably too because I'm never home.

Oh I've tried, there is absolutely no chance!

I stream music 3-4 hour a day, constantly browsing on FB, I'm on betting sites streaming football / horse racing, I've even watched films and I let my friend tether from me wherever we go.

I think the most I have ever used is around 480GB

One of the really surprising things so far (for me) is the age of the phones - many happy to run phones 12-24 months old.
Makes all the product hype and phone launches a bit silly ...
I used to get the latest greatest when there were big jumps in tech e.g 480 res to 1080, 3mp cam to 8mp, 4gb to 16gb etc.. now most are just a few little tweaks and a new shell,

I pre-ordered my HTC 10 today. Should get it in a few days as it comes out tomorrow.

I will update everyone with specs once I have it. I'm mostly interested in the battery life. Apparently it can last days without a charge.
    We will see about that!

    Phone Type S6 Edge 64GB

    Phone Age 11 Months
    Phone Cost 30,900 baht
    Plan Cost 0 (Pre Paid)
    Phone calls per month 5 - 10
Data Usage 24 hours 15 Baht
    Texts per month 0 - 5

Apps use last month - 10+ But mostly - Scatter Slots, Double U Casino, Hearts of Vegas, 2 Dots, Crystalux, Spider Solitaire, My tracks, Google Translate, ASmart Remote, XE, and of course there are the phone apps like calculator, camera ect.

Internet browser use - Very little, considering the amount of time spent online. An an hour a month probably, mostly on checking to see how certain pages look on a mobile.

Additional Discussion. It seems that I don't treat my phone as a phone any more. It has replaced my laptop, camera, maps, bits of paper and goodness knows what else it will continue to replace.

    Great post

Phone Type - iPhone 6, only acquired a few weeks back
    Phone Age - 3 weeks
Phone Cost - Free upgrade 12 month plan
Plan Cost - 55 EUR per month
Phone calls per month - shitloads
Texts per month - around 10, but maybe 3 times that on the various messenger apps
Apps use last month - maybe 10-15: main ones = gmail app, facebook, whatsapp, bbc sport, tapatalk (for this forum)
Internet browser use - 10-15 hours per month

    Additional Discussion -
I only got the iPhone 6 recently as I was reluctant to move up to the larger screen size. I still use my old iPhone 5S for listening to music and stuff, it's mad how small that screen feels now, even only after a week or two using the larger phone. I think there are a lot of mobile users out there resisting the move to the larger screen, but once they give in to the pressure very few will go back to the smaller screen...in my opinion anyway.

I use my laptop for work, spreadsheets...etc, I would like to browse more on it but it's old and needs to be plugged in constantly, so it feels like a lot of work to fire it up. Therefore all my browsing, social media, sports reading...etc is done on my phone. Except of course when I'm in the day job (like now!) and at my PC.

I intend on buying an all-in-one PC for my house soon, which will be the hub of all my work, play and entertainment needs. It's probably just psychological, but I seem to work much quicker and smarter on a PC, even compared to a good laptop.

So I started using the new phone today.

Just got an alert that I have reached the 11gb limit and will now be charged for an extra gb. Billing cycle resets on the 8th.
(See Stephen, I could use your 1000gb limit easily)

Had a look in the phone and it looks like google services was not switched on wifi only and has used 10gb of data in the last 2 days (was connected to wifi yesterday) and approx 6gb of that was in the last 2-3 hours.

    W T F

Have gone and turned background data to wifi only on everything. Kills me. I don't know why these devices don't come with those things on wifi as default.

So because all this **** was running in the background, the battery was getting chewed pretty quickly. I will assess the battery life over the weekend and come back.

So far, the phone itself is pretty outstanding. The screen is Quad HD and super fast. There is no lag in the touch. It's a bit bigger than my old HTC but not big enough that it's uncomfortable to hold.

I don't like that they have removed gallery and replaced it with google photos as standard in the iOS.
It uses USB type-c cable for charging which makes it charge SUPER fast. Huge positive IMO.

    More to come tomorrow.

If you don't care about phone camera and features, just buy a cheap used phone and a prepaid plan, and you'll barely pay anything

OK so tested the battery pretty good over the weekend.
Yesterday I was using my phone the whole day (10.30am to 11pm), streaming vids, a 1 hour phone call, etc, and by the time I went to bed I had 40% battery left. Thought that was pretty awesome. I'd have had to charge my last phone at least once during the day if that was the case.

That's me out now. If anyone is looking for a new phone, highly recommend the htc 10.

I know right. Go to a cafe, bar, etc and how many people do you see hunched over their phones even when there are other people sitting with them. The world has become addicted to technology.

I'm due an upgrade in 2 months, it's the first time I've thought about leaving apple. They haven't progressed much in the 3 models since Jobs died.

Thinking of moving to android but I'll wait to see what the iphone 7 is offering.

I have a rule when I am out with people. Everyone's phone is face down on the table. The first person to touch their phone pays the bill.
    Works every time.
