Personally I know loads of people who think Ladbrokes are, due to their strong offline presence but in reality they couldn't be farther from the truth. PaddyPower for me, to add to the list.

I would say that in Australia whenever I mention to people what I do, the only way I can get them to understand is to tell them that our company does a similar thing to 888. People don't generally even know what online gambling is here. You tell them you work for an online casino and they say "oh you mean you deal cards?"

So to answer your question, mentioning 888 makes them realise so I would say here 888 is a well known brand.

For casino only rather than sportsbetting, I would say Sky Vegas in the UK. They don't really take any other players (Finland and Bulgaria maybe?). Mr Green also does quite well in the UK, though not sure how 'brand recognizable' they would be.

From the ones you mentioned, I think 888 is definitely the more casino focused. I see William Hill, and Ladbrokes more as Sports to be honest. With 888, i've seen so much offline advertising on London underground tubes, UK TV advertising etc (when i was living in London that for some reason online casino = 888.

888 is allowed to make TV advertising in Germany too.
Most players don't know, that this casino is blocking winning players only because they are winning!
And most players don't know, that the poker AND casino software was/is (?) faulty.
Both is proven!
It's easy to overbrand everything.
In Germany for a decade the Casino Club from Affiliate Club was the most known online casino here. Roulette is the favorite game in Germany.

It depends on the country. Here in Belgium nobody knows 888. They are not legal here and we can't visit their website, it is blocked by the government. For Belgium, Unibet is the most popular.
