    Default Motivation

    Hello everyone!

Im just in the process of making my fourth site at the minute and I seem to have hit a mental wall. How do you guys stay motivated to keep building sites/adding content. I find I have written that many reviews and articles about poker/casino/sportsbook they are all sounding too similar and Im running out of motivation to keep writing. Other than than thinking of the end goal ($$$) what keeps you going?

I think about the Mortgage on my house!

Alternatively, I would recommend eating an awful lot of red Haribo sweets and reading: http://boostblogtraffic.com/writers-block/

    I think about shoes!

When I'm doing writing or any task that can get quite boring/repetitive I make a lists of everything I need to do, even the most simple parts like "Publish post", that way I tick things off as I go along I feel like I've actually accomplished something compared to not having ticked the whole task off.

You could combine Hodgey's suggestion with mine and reward yourself with Harbio every time you tick something off the list :

The only motivation you need is "this is my livelihood." Anything else and you're blowing sunshine. If that's not enough, work for someone else at an hourly rate.

Try outsourcing the more repetitive content/tasks such as the reviews, see if that helps. Then focus your time on doing some in depth articles or new novel marketing ideas, building a social media presence and optimising your sites.

I just think I don't want to go back working in a warehouse lifting boxes of tiles all day again with a bunch of bellends

Try mixing it up, while my focus is on casinos I have a couple of other websites that are on different topics, when I reach monotony I will work on my other two sites for a day then go back to my casinos.

In the beginning I wrote everything myself. But now I almost write nothing anymore. I outsource almost all the writing work.

You should keep the money you could earn in mind.

Your motivation has to come from within you. People can tell you what they focus on and ask you what are your goals? What do you want out of your life? Why did you start your sites in the first place? What is having your sites making you money going to do for you? How is that going to make you feel? All of that can be good but you have to find your motivation inside yourself, not what motivated you a year ago, but today!

    My son is my motivation

When I have a mental block I usually stop what I am doing and I move into something else totally different. That usually helps me.

I'm passionate about the sites I create. Whenever I create a new site, there's always big plans for that site, and that's enough to keep me motivated.

I keep a list of things I'd like to do with my sites, ideas for new content, etc, and when I start getting a block I generally get some inspiration from the list.

I think it's important to have time away from things too and I always have another pastime or two to give me a break for a while - helps recharge the batteries.

I agree with that, if you don't give yourself time off, you'll go crazy with stress. You should take some time to clear your mind every once in awhile.

Short term goals, like holidays always push me through. I'm always booking up a short break, it gives me something to look forward to to, I know if I'm going on holiday next month I'll work at 110% to ensure that I really enjoy that holiday.

Big things like the mortgage play a part, but they sometimes depress me more than motivate!
