    Default Negative reviews

Hi guys, where do we stand on leaving negative reviews for operators? What I mean is if say you have worked with an operator and no longer wish to work with them, can you change the review to say dont play at xxxxx, play here instead.

Are we allowed to still keep up images, logos, screenshots etc or can they ask you to take them down as well as the negative review?

    Cheers

Askgamblers appear to do something similar to this, so I don't see why it would be a problem.

It's more an operator asking you to take down logos screenshots etc than the review itself, is it intellectual property rights? I dont know......

You operate a review site and I don't see any issue to publish a negative review if in your opinion the operator deserves that. To avoid any trademark related problems I would recommend to remove the logos and banners.

    Yes possibly replace their logo with a screenshot, like on trustpilot;

You're free to leave a negative review. However, a logo might be a trademark. And they might be able to take down slander.

I'd say leave the negative review without a logo if it's a trademark and publish just facts, no incorrect statements.

The coin has two sides, so if it is a negtive reviews, it shoudl be written and read. This might prevent future affiliates and customers. And on the topic I thinkg that review can sty , just have to remove all the promotional materials from yours or respective site.

Personally, I think that you should leave negative reviews on review sites like trustpilot and not on your site. Furthermore, I advise you to write it in such a way so that the operator cannot connect the review to you. The last thing that you want is for the operator to read the negative review, know that it's from you, and then carry out a massive negative seo campaign against your site. It's been known to happen.

Check the Affiliate Terms and Conditions, there is normally something in there about removing Images / logos etc.

It depends on the laws where you are located. In the United States it is my belief that it is fair use to use a limited amount of information, even a trademarked logo, in the context of publishing a review. We do, for example, publish information about payment methods, including information about the payment method and which online gaming sites accept payments using the payment method. We do this in a way where it is clear we are not trying to represent ourselves that the trademark owner, or having any business relationship with the trademark owner. We do receive email notices that we are violating the trademark rights of a payment method periodically. But we are not, under U.S. law, and every time we receive such a complaint we respond and explain that we have fair use rights protected under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. In fact, I received such a complaint in the last week from moneygram regarding the following web page: http://online.casinocity.com/payment-methods/moneygram/. I just need to brush off the last response I made to a complaint from moneygram and send it off to them. In other countries case law might not provide the same protections for such reviews as it does in the United States. In fact, in many cases I am sure it will not since the United States is known for the way it protects the right to free speech.

Remove all links pointing to their website and place your banner in the most visible part of the review with a link to your preferred page, something like this: "Get the best casino bonuses here".

That doesn't necessarily mean you've legally have the obligation to do is.

But it might result of course in account closure and also in negative SEO attacks.

    We don't run negative reviews.
If a site doesn't meet our criteria (and 99% dont) then we don't list them

Normally the path that I follow is to make the review as objective as possible, but in the same way I clarify to my readers that they should not enter the casino for "x" reason and invite them to look for another one on my page. I see nothing wrong with posting a bad review, it is part of everyday life.

I think if your Authority depends on you having good and bad reviews that's OK, otherwise why waste your time and effort on writing information on something you're not going to promote. Personally I don't even mention brands that are not worth promoting or give their names any air time. Like my mother used to say, "if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything!".

This isnt for a new company that we were working with but an old one that we ranked well for terms. The review was already there. In the end I edited it to say we no longer can recommend xxxx and to play at these other places instead.

I understand your point of view, thanks for sharing your experiences. In my case, I have "bad" reviews on my site so that my readers are warned about such places (mainly because readers are also interested in this type of content and it works in my particular case).
