    Default Negative SEO or wtf?

    Hello,

We receiving last few months a lot of bad links from sites like this:

    http://service-fm.ru/component/k2/itemlist/user/87565
    http://budogosh.ru/index.php?option=...k=user&id=7669
    http://armigh.com.br/index.php?optio...user&id=169623

This looks like good site, but hacked by some robots and filled with low value content with our link.

    Question:

It is negative SEO attack against us? Or something else?
And how to fight against this?

    Thanks

It seems. Are they pointed to certain pages?

I have seen this does a bazillion times, they link out all over the place in hopes it will help their pages rank on those keywords, as well as the negative effect on those they link to....

    Disavow and move on.

Yes, absolutely. I totally agree with you, Rick. These people are just shooting links all over the place in order to help them get a boost on their pages and their ranks. There's a very good chance that they will also get penalised by Google over this.

Take no notice and forget about them.

When did linking out help boost ranks? This is just cheap typical negative SEO.. i get a lot of spammy casino domains which hit my money pages, I used to disavow then tried ignoring them to see what happened.. you know what.. so far ranks have remained stable, I think G is pretty good upon picking these up now.

Did google not state they will no longer penalize pages for spammy links just not count them once again.

Yeah, Nick Garner has a very interesting interview with John Mueller from Google in the last issue of IGB magazine. Bottom line, bad/crappy links = no links. John Mueller actually said that he is not using the disavow tool for his site, however his site is definitely not in the gambling niche...

This is not negative SEO against any of you in particular although it may look like it is - it is a byproduct of their automated link spam designed to make their sites rank. They hacked a bunch of sites, placed their parasite pages on them and interlinked them, and the content of these parasite pages is a bunch of keywords and links, but to dilute links to just their own parasite pages on hacked sites they also linked to random third party sites ranking for some of these keywords. I hope my explanation makes sense.

Yeah, it seems to make sense. It's such a shame though.

They have to be pointed to certain pages that the hacker/attacker would want to get a hold of.

Yep, that's why it could be an indication that it's a mood-willing intent. If that's the case.

For example, if you have just links pointed at a certain, not very positive review, to me it's likely that it's a negative seo effort by someone who wnats that review out of the first results in Google.

    Hello Rick,

I agree with you but I do not think that Google will give a negative ranking factor for the sites which are linked from this blacklisted sites even the site do not make any disavow.

because it may not be fair in case the victim site's owner does know that his/her site is linked....

    What do you think?

I agree with a portion of that, since they can clearly see that the pages are not quality for sure, but I usually disavow anyway. I wonder if the disavow hits on a domain hurts the domain long term.

I have disavowed for one of my older sites also and it helped that site to recover from Google penalty!

But I still think that Google should have taken precautions with this issue. Otherwise, it becomes very easy for the bad aimed people to give harm to any site they want. Right?

The "Google Game" should not be this much easy!

    Cheers!

Yeah, this is also my preference of first choice. It's a nifty little tool and it's easy and straightforward for anyone to use.
